Dabei Prison Denies Family Visits as Practitioner Refuses to “Transform”

(Minghui.org) Dabei Prison in Liaoning Province has forbidden Ms. Yin Hongmei's family to visit her since September 2014, because she refused to give up her belief in Falun Gong. Given the tortures she endured during previous detentions, including at the notorious Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, the family worries much about her current situation.

Ms. Yin was sentenced to four years in prison on December 6, 2013, for downloading three articles from the Minghui website. She was illegally arrested at her home on June 13, 2012.

According to a witness, three police officers from Dalian, along with several officers from the Xinhua Police Station and three officials from the Wafangdian 610 Office, appeared at Ms. Yin's home and arrested her. They took her by her arm and shoved her into their police vehicle. The police left after ransacking her home.

Yin's family visited her at Masanjia Women's Ward of Dabei Prison in late August 2014. Prison guards restricted Ms. Yin from reporting the prison conditions to her family. The prison authorities then contacted her family in late September, informing them Yin was no longer allowed family visits, because she refused to be “transformed.”
