Additional Persecution News from China – November 4, 2015 (27 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 21 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 19 practitioners were sentenced, 26 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 49 were illegally arrested. Several practitioners seeking to mail letters of complaint regarding Jiang Zemin to the Supreme People's Procuratorate and the Supreme Court have met with obstacles.

1. [Xiangyang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Lu Shifang Detained

Ms. Lu Shifang was detained at the Xiangyang City Administrative Detention Center on October 30, 2015.

2. [Dai County, Shanxi Province] Ms. Dai Chunhua Detained

Ms. Dai Chunhua was arrested at her store on November 3, 2015. She was detained at the Xinzhou Detention Center for ten days.

3. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Two Practitioners Detained and One Left Home to Avoid Further Persecution

Ms. Zhang Guilan and Ms. Gao Huachang went to the Hongshan Town Police Station on October 19, 2015, to ask for their Falun Gong books, MP3 players, pictures of the founder of Falun Gong, and other personal items, which were confiscated by police officers after both practitioners sued former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin. They returned home empty-handed.

The next day, both practitioners were arrested by officers including Hao Fenglin, ordered by director Zhang Wei, from Hongshan Town Police Station. They were detained at the Zhawang Detention Center in Zichuan District for seven days.

Mr. Si Shubo was harassed and had his home ransacked by officers from the Longquan Police Station in early September, 2015, for suing Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese dictator. In early October, Mr. Si was arrested and taken to the Longquan Police Station to be interrogated after he sued Jiang Zemin. He was ordered to go to that police station on October 21 to sign a document of detention. Mr. Si had to leave home to avoid further persecution.

4. [Lianyuan City, Hunan Province] Two Practitioners Detained

Mr. Deng Jianjiang was arrested and handcuffed by officers from the Shuidongdi Town Police Station on September 29, 2015. He was detained at the Lianyuan City Detention Center for ten days.

Mr. Deng Jianhua was detained for five days and released on November 3, 2015.

5. [Guan County, Shandong Province] Six Practitioners Detained and Two Harassed

Six practitioners were arrested by officers from the Guan County Domestic Security Division and local police station on October 28, 2015. They are Mr. Du Xiugang, Ms. Ni Ruju, Ms. Zhang Huanzhen, Ms. Guo Zhenying, Mr. Bao Ziwen, and Ms. Li Xiuhua. The six female practitioners are detained at the Liaocheng City Detention Center, and the two male practitioners at the Guan County Detention Center.

Mr. Chen Wenchang’s home was ransacked by officers including director Yao from the Ganguantun Town Police Station on October 28, 2015. The police confiscated computers, printers, and informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. The next day, his home was ransacked again and his family was threatened by officers from the Gaun County Domestic Security Division and the Gangauntu Town Police Station. Mr. Chen had to leave home to avoid further persecution. His elderly mother, in her 70s, was left at home unattended.

The officers ransacked Ms. Chen Xiumei's home the same day. They confiscated informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong and a picture of the founder of Falun Gong.

6. [Beijing] Ms. Liu Defen and Ms. Ju Xing Detained

Ms. Liu Defen and Ms. Ju Xing has been being detained at the Shijingshan Detention Center after they were arrested by officers from the Bajiao Police Station in March 2015.

7. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Six Practitioners Detained and Two Harassed

Six practitioners were arrested by officers from the Longkou Domestic Security Division and local police stations on October 26, 2015. They are Mr. Zhang Qisheng, Mr. Hu Guangliang, Ms. Wang Liwen, Ms. Diao Chunfeng, Ms. Zhao Guoying, and Mr. He Ruiping. They are all detained at the Zhangjiagou Detention Center.

Ms. Wang Fengling's home was recently ransacked. Her computer and other personal items were confiscated. She was later dismissed by her workplace for her belief.

Ms. Jiang Zhenju's home was also recently ransacked by officers from the Qijia Town Police Station. The police confiscated Falun Gong books, informational DVDs, calendars and materials about the persecution of Falun Gong.

8. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Six Practitioners Arrested

Six practitioners were arrested and had their homes ransacked by officers from the Hekou District Domestic Security Section on November 2, 2015. They are Ms. Fu Chuanmei, Mr. Bu Qingjin, Mr. Zhao Jianhua, Mr. Zhou Jie, Mr. Zhou Zhenmin, and Mr. Xu Shuhua.

9. [Huazhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zhang Huahong Detained

Ms. Zhang Huahong was arrested at home by officers from the local 610 Office on October 30, 2015. She was taken to a hospital for a physical examination and then detained at Huazhou City No. 1 Detention Center.

Her home was ransacked by three dozen officers from the local police station and residential administrative office, directed by Huazhou City 610 Office for suing Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese dictator.

10. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yu Jinhua and One Practitioner Arrested

Ms. Yu Jinhua and another practitioner were arrested and taken to a police station on October 30, 2015, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. The other practitioner was released in the early morning hours of October 31. Ms. Yu is detained at Weizigou Detention Center.

11. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Na Yan Detained

Ms. Na Yan, a nurse from Shenyang City No. 6 People's Hospital, was arrested at work by officers from the Nanshichang Police Station in Heping District on November 2, 2015. She is detained at the Santaizi Detention Center in Huanggu District.

12. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Guo Xiuwen Detained

Ms. Guo Xiuwen was arrested by officers from the Dongling Police Department and the Lingyun Police Station on November 2, 2015. The police ransacked her home. She is detained at the Lingyun Detention Center.

13. [Pan County, Guizhou Province] Five Practitioners Harassed

Ms. He Sufang, Ms, He Meixian, and Mr. Miu Xiangzhi were taken by officers to the Baiguo Police Station including Zhang Hong on October 28 and 29, 2015, for suing Jiang Zemin. They refused to respond while being interrogated about their lawsuits against the former Chinese dictator. Before releasing them, the police forcibly drew their blood, took their fingerprints, and pressed their fingerprints on statements renouncing Falun Gong.

The officers broke into Mr. Zhang Mingsong's home on October 29. Mr. Zhang refused to have his blood drawn by the police.

Ms. Xiao Yunhui was harassed at home by officers including Jiang Kaijin from Baiguo Police Station on October 29. The police also demanded that Ms. Xiao have her blood drawn, give her fingerprints, and place her fingerprints on documents. She firmly refused their demands.

14. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] One Practitioner Detained and Another Harassed

Ms. Yan Fengjin was arrested at home by officers from the Baogong Police Station in Tiexi District on November 2, 2015, for suing Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese dictator. She was detained for 24 hours.

Mr. Zhu Jun was harassed at home by officers from the Baogong Police Station on November 3. The police interrogated him about his lawsuit against Jiang Zemin.

15. [Yishui County, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Zhao Kegui, Ms. Liang Guizhen, Mr. Xu Liangcheng, and Ms. Xu Yuqin were arrested at Ms. Liang's home by twelve officers from the Yishui County 610 Office and the Beijiao Police Station on October 22, 2015. The police ransacked Ms. Liang's home and confiscated five boxes of Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs, three boxes of informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong, 7,000 yuan in paper money with messages about Falun Gong written on them, and two computers.

Mr. Xu, Ms. Liang's husband, was released that day due high blood pressure. Ms. Xu, Ms. Liang's daughter, was released on bail pending trial. Mr. Zhao is detained at the Yishui Detention Center, and Ms. Liang at the Lingyi Detention Center.

16. [Huaian City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Ma Hongjun Arrested

Mr. Ma Hongjun was arrested at home on November 2, 2015.

17. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Five Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Hu Xiuli, 47, and her son Mr. Lan Tianhao were arrested at her store by eight officers from Chifeng City on November 2, 2015. The police confiscated personal items. Ms. Hu was taken to the Yunshanlu Criminal Police Division and then to the Pingzhuang Detention Center.

Several other practitioners including Ms. Meng Qingling, in her 40s, Ms. Jia Guizhi, in her 60s, Ms. Fang Suxia, 57, were also arrested that day.

All arrested practitioners forcibly had their blood drawn, and had their fingerprints taken. Mr. Lan was released that day.

18. [Daye City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhu Xixia Arrested

Ms. Zhu Xixia filed a complaint against Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese dictator, in June 2015. She was arrested by five or six plainclothes officers from the Daye Domestic Security Division and the Mingshan Town Police Station on November 3, 2015.

The police then ransacked her home and confiscated her money, computer, and all her Falun Gong books.

19. [Xiangyang City, Hubei Province] Mr. Hu Gaohua Detained

Mr. Hu Gaohua was arrested by officers from the Panggong Police Station in Xiangcheng District on October 29, 2015. He is detained at the Xiangcheng District Detention Center.

20. [Zhumadian City, Henan Province] Mr. Kang Fuchun Sentenced

Mr. Kang Fuchun was detained at the Zhumadian City Detention Center for two years and thirty-six days. He was then sentenced to a three-year prison term and taken to Xinmi Prison in Zhengzhou City on September 15, 2015.

21. [Zhumadian City, Henan Province] Ms. Yan Huifang Transferred to Zhumadian City Detention Center

Ms. Yan Huifang was transferred to Zhumadian City Detention Center on October 29, 2015.

22. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Jian Yufeng Arrested

Ms. Jian Yufeng was arrested at home by Liu Changshi from the Xinhua Police Station on November 2, 2015. While at the police station, the police interrogated her and took notes regarding Ms. Jian's lawsuit against Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese dictator. She was later released but the police threatened her and ordered her to bring in some documents the next day.

23. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms, Lu Qiumeng Detained

Ms, Lu Qiumeng was arrested at home by officers from the Fuqiangjie Police Station on November 2, 2015. The police confiscated cell phones and approximately 60 DVDs. She is detained at the Weizigou Detention Center.

24. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Kewen Harassed and Ms. Liu Ruifeng Arrested

Mr. Zhang Kewen's home was ransacked by four or five officers from the Heya Police Station on October 30, 2015. The police confiscated Falun Gong books and an MP3 player. Mr. Zhang was not at home.

Ms. Liu Ruifeng was also arrested at home by five or six Heya Police Station on the same day. The police confiscated Falun Gong books and MP3 players. Ms. Liu was taken to the police station and was forced to give her fingerprints and have her blood drawn. She refused to cooperate and was released that day.

25. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Xuemei Arrested

Ms. Li Xuemei was arrested and her home ransacked by officers from the Domestic Security Division on November 3, 2015, for suing Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese dictator.

26. [Benxi County, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Gao Shushan was arrested at home by officers from the Guanyinge Police Station on October 29, 2015. While at the police station, Mr. Gao was interrogated about his lawsuit against Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese dictator. He was released after being forced to give his fingerprints.

Mr. Pu Shanming was deceived by Luan, an officer from Guanyinge Police Station, and went to that police station the same day. The police showed Mr. Pu the complaint letter against Jiang Zemin written by him, and interrogated him. The police demanded Mr. Pu write a statement renouncing Falun Gong, but he refused.

Ms. Pu Li was arrested at her workplace by officers from the Guanyinge Police Station on November 2, 2015. She was taken home and the police confiscated Falun Gong books, and a dozen Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs. She was then taken to the police station for interrogation. She was released after the police took notes.

27. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Six Practitioners Arrested and Five Harassed

Six practitioners have been arrested since October 26, 2015. They are Ms. Liu Yaqin, Ms. Zheng Hua, Ms. Song Wenjie, Ms. Gong Cuiqin, Ms. Zhang Yufang, and elderly Ms. Wang. Ms. Liu's home was ransacked, as well as Ms. Zhang's. Ms. Zheng and Ms. Wang were released and the others are still detained at Songshan District Detention Center.

Ms. Hu Shumin and Ms. Liu Guoqin were harassed at home by officers from the Hongshan District Police Department. Ms. Bian Yuzhi, Mr. Man Wenshuang, and Ms. Bai Yulan received harassing phone calls from the police.

28. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Chunmei Transferred to Prison

Ms. Li Chunmei was sentenced to three years and two months in April this year for practicing Falun Gong. The police sent her to the Liaoning Women's Prison on September 15, but the prison authorities declined to admit her citing her poor health. Within two months, however, the police pressured the prison to take Ms. Li, who is believed to have been transferred to the prison at the end of October.

29. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] 16 Practitioners Sentenced

Sixteen Dalian residents were sentenced in the first 10 months of 2015 for practicing Falun Gong. Below are details of their sentences.

30. [Fangzheng, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Li Chang'an Sentenced to 12 Years in Prison

Mr. Li Chang'an filed an appeal to Harbin Intermediate Court on November 2, four days after he was sentenced to 12 years for practicing Falun Gong.

Mr. Li was arrested on May 21, 2015, and Fengzheng County Court held two hearings on September 1 and October 9, respectively. The defense lawyer questioned the admissibility of the prosecution evidence as it was extracted from Mr. Li through coercion by staff members from the local disciplinary committee, who had no role in the prosecution. The judge, however, refused to dismiss the evidence and gave Mr. Li a heavy sentence even though he had not committed any crimes.
