A Life Renewed

(Minghui.org) A woman in China on the verge of death had her life renewed by Falun Gong in three short days. The miracle amazed the doctors who had given up on her and refused to treat her. The woman's husband, encouraged by his wife's experience with Falun Gong, also discovered profound benefits of the practice.

This woman had been a lay Buddhist for 30 years, in the hopes of being blessed with good health. She'd memorized a lot of Buddhist scriptures. At the beginning, it did seem to help maintain good health.

However, as the moral standard in China today has slid downward–exacerbated by the Communist Party's campaigns to destroy traditional values–even many Buddhists no longer know the true teachings of Buddha. More and more unrighteous behavior have been brought into the temples and the Buddhist community. Over time, this woman also became increasingly ill.

Several years ago, one of her relatives suggested that Falun Gong could help her. However, because of the ongoing persecution of Falun Gong by the communist regime, she was afraid of being persecuted and refused to give the practice a try.

A Turning Point

In April 2013, this woman suffered a bout of internal bleeding. She could not eat or drink. The blood vessels in her arms shrank so much that doctors could not find a vein for intravenous injection. Unable to do any more for her, her doctors simply told her to prepare for her funeral. She didn't give up, and went to a larger hospital in the city, where she was again told that nothing could be done.

With no other options, she tried a small hospital in the countryside. While at the hospital, she continuously heard the voice of someone giving a lecture, but no one else could hear it. However, she could not be helped at this hospital, either. Being unable to swallow, she couldn't take medication orally, nor could she take them intravenously. Eventually, she went home.

During this period of desperation, this woman received a Falun Gong booklet. One story in particular drew her attention. According to the Buddhist scriptures, the Udumbara flower blossoms when the Holy King Who Turns the Wheel descends to the human world. She remembered what her relative had told her about this ancient cultivation practice, and decided to give it a try.

She put hand on her heart, and silently said to the founder of Falun Gong, “Master Li Hongzhi, I missed the opportunity to practice Falun Gong a few years ago because I was afraid of the persecution. Now I am in such a hopeless situation, just waiting for death. I feel so fortunate to have received this booklet. Please take me as your disciple, and I will cultivate diligently.”

As soon as she made the wish, she felt the purification of her body begin. That night, she sensed a rotating Falun (law wheel), and in three days, the purification was done. The miracle had happened. She could eat like a normal person, and her appetite returned! Her overall health recovered rapidly.

She asked her relative, the Falun Gong practitioner, to teach her the exercises. When her relative gave her a set of DVDs of Master Li's lectures, she was amazed again when she hit the play button. Such a familiar voice—the voice of the speaker who she'd heard lecturing in the hospital! She said to herself, “This is the true Master I have been looking for!” This was how she started her journey of practicing Falun Gong.

When she went to the hospital to finalize some paperwork, the doctors were astonished to see her so healthy. She told them that it was Falun Gong that saved her life. She said the same to everybody she ran into. A concerned government official said to her, “We believe you, but you should pay attention to your own safety. If you say this to everybody, you might get arrested.” She said to the official, “Falun Gong saved my life. I wouldn't have a conscience if I were afraid to praise it.”

Her Buddhist friends didn't understand why she had started practicing Falun Gong. She said to them, “You should read the Buddhist scriptures again carefully, to understand what Falun Gong is and who the Master of Falun Gong is. I was rejected by several hospitals, and Master Li saved me. My own experience is the best evidence that Falun Gong is good.”

Husband Also Benefits from Falun Gong

In October 2014, this woman's husband lay breathless in an emergency room with a large tumor in his aorta. The cost of the diagnosis was 40,000 yuan (roughly 6,500 U.S. dollars). The doctors recommended immediate surgery, which would cost 120 thousand yuan (roughly 20,000 USD).

However, he developed complications, and his symptoms became so severe that the hospital in the capital city of Hubei Province could not address it. The doctors suggested transferring him to a hospital in Shaanxi Province that specialized in cardiovascular diseases. There, he would have to wait nine days for the surgery.

The woman said to her husband, who was in great pain, “You should ask Falun Gong's Master for help.” She told him to sincerely recite “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.”

Skeptical, her husband responded, “If saying those words would help, then nobody would need to go to hospitals anymore.” She told him, “Only someone who doesn't know about Falun Gong would say that. Look at me, wasn't I saved by Master Li, when I was waiting for death? Isn't this miracle true?” Her husband nodded, “What happened to you is true. I will do as you said.”

By sincerely reciting “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” for nine days, her husband made it safely to the operating room. The pre-surgery examination surprised the doctors. His previous high blood glucose level was lowered, and the tumor in his aorta was gone! The stunned doctors shouted, “Amazing! You're so lucky! We've never seen such a case.” The woman's husband has been fine since then.

This new practitioner and her husband are deeply grateful to Master Li Hongzhi and Falun Gong. They hope that the persecution of Falun Gong will end soon, so that more people can learn of the beauty of Falun Gong and benefit from it.
