(Minghui.org) Mr. Li Deshan, a Falun Gong practitioner from Gaomi, Shandong Province, was suspected of installing satellite dishes to receive NTDTV, a New York-based TV station known for reporting uncensored news about China. He was arrested on August 15, 2013.

Starting at the end of 2012, the police started monitoring several practitioners in Qingdao and Gaoming, including their cellular and home phones. Some practitioners' daily activities were also video-recorded. However, the police didn't obtain any evidence of practitioners installing satellite dishes to watch NTDTV.

After he was arrested, Mr. Li was repeatedly interrogated, but he adamantly denied installing satellite dishes. While Mr. Li was being held at Weifang Detention Center, the police continued fabricating evidence to charge him.

Mr. Li's case was submitted to the Procuratorate in January of 2014 by the Weifang 610 Office and Domestic Security Division. However, as a result of lacking sufficient evidence, the Procuratorate declined to move the case forward.

Police officers arrested ten more practitioners on April 4, 2014. The satellite dishes installed at Mr. Shan Yicheng and Mr. Wang Zhili's homes were confiscated. The police are now trying to use these two satellite dishes as evidence to convict the practitioners.

In a free country, watching TV is something taken for granted as a perfectly normal activity. Meanwhile, people in China are being arrested and persecuted for watching TV programs censored by the government.
