Additional Persecution News from China – May 3, 2014 (16 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from mainland China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 15 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 17 practitioners were illegally arrested .

1. [Urumqi City, Xinjiang Province] Mr. Liu Zhanjiang Detained

Mr. Liu Zhanjiang was arrested by officers from the local police department on the evening of March 19, 2014. The police ransacked his home and confiscated his computer and Falun Gong books. He is being held at the Midong District Detention Center.

2. [Huangshi City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xiong Fenglian and Ms. Xu Aiyin Arrested

Ms. Xiong Fenglian and Ms. Xu Aiyin were arrested and taken to the provincial brainwashing center by officers from the Xisai District on April 9 and May 1, 2014, respectively. Ms. Xiong escaped on the way to the brainwashing center and her whereabouts are unknown.

3. [Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Facing Trials

Mr. Xiong Hongwei, Mr. Zhou Shutian, and Ms. Liu Xia are facing trials.

4. [Xian City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Zeng Zhaohua Arrested

Mr. Zeng Zhaohua was arrested in late April 2014. Officers from the Xian City 610 Office later ransacked his home in Chenggu County.

5. [Xian City, Shaanxi Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Ma Yunhua and three other practitioners were arrested. Ms. Ma was arrested based on an illegal arrest warrant.

Officers from Xian City, the Jingtai Police Department in Baoji City and the Weibin Police Department broke into Ms. Li Surong's home on the evening of April 30, 2014. They questioned her about her relationship with Ms. Ma.

They also ransacked the home of Ms. Li's son on the evening of May 1, 2014, and confiscated two printers, Falun Gong truth-clarifying DVDs, and Falun Gong books.

6. [Yuncheng County, Shandong Province] Ms. Chen Xiujun Detained

Ms. Chen Xiujun was arrested at home by six or seven police officers on the morning of April 29, 2014. They ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books, DVDs, Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials, paper bills that had Falun Gong messages printed on them and silver bracelets. Ms. Chen is being held at the Heze Detention Center.

7. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Guo Hongyan Detained

Ms. Guo Hongyan is currently being held at the Shenyang Detention Center.

8. [Chongqing] Two Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Gao Jie, 57, and another practitioner were arrested on April 30, 2014. Officers confiscated printers and computers. It was the fourth time that Ms. Gao was arrested.

9. [Chongqing] Ms. Xu Xiaoqin's Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Xu Xiaoqin has not returned home since May 1, 2014. There is a possibility that she was arrested.

10. [Pingxiang City, Jiangxi Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Yang Suhui, Ms. Xiao Fangme and Ms. Xiao Qiuwen were arrested and taken to the Nankeng Town Police Station on the morning of May 2, 2014, for distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs. Their families went to the police station to find out about their family members. Officers there did not allow them to see the three practitioners.

11. [Shanghai] Ms. Wang Guizhen Arrested

It has been ten days since Ms. Wang Guizhen was arrested.

12. [Beijing] Mr. Wang Fenglong Arrested

Mr. Wang Fenglong was arrested by officers from the Gucechengguan Police Station on April 25, 2014 and his home was ransacked.

13. [Nantong City, Jiangsu Province] Five Practitioners Detained

Ms. Hu Ronghua, Ms. Sha Jinqi, and Ms. Gao Shuping were arrested on April 1, 2014. They were recently transferred to the brainwashing center located on the seventh floor of the Lijing Hotel in Nantong City. It was said that Ms. Yan Ling and Mr. Gu Hejun are also being held at that hotel.

14. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wei Liyan Detained

Ms. Wei Liyan, in her 40s, was arrested by officers from the Zhanqian Police Station on April 23, 2014. She is being held at the Nangou Detention Center in Fushun City.

15. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Lu Wenqing's Home Ransacked

Ms. Lu Wenqing's home was ransacked by a dozen police officers including director Liu Maohua from the Longhe Police Station on the afternoon of April 25, 2014. They confiscated Falun Gong books, a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, Master Li Hongzhi, a cell phone, a small tape recorder and other personal items. They later broke into her second son's home by smashing through the asbestos wall and ransacked it.

Ms. Lu was arrested and taken to the Longhe Police Station by Liu and four police officers, on the morning of April 26, 2014. She was interrogated and held for a day.

16. [Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province] Two Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Zhao Hongrong and Ms. Zhang Guilan were arrested on the afternoon of April 30, 2014. Several cell phones with messages about the persecution of Falun Gong were confiscated.

The police ransacked Mr. Zhao's home on the very early morning of May 1, 2014. They confiscated Falun Gong books, a laptop computer, paper bills with messages about the persecution of Falun Gong, and cash. Mr. Zhao escaped that day.
