Additional Persecution News from China – April 10, 2014 (20 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from mainland China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 11 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 23 practitioners were illegally arrested .

1. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Gao Lizhen Arrested

Ms. Gao Lizhen was arrested in November 2013, and her home was ransacked.

2. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yang Chun Detained

Ms. Yang Chun was arrested at home by officers from the Liulishan Police Station on the morning of April 4, 2014. Officers confiscated her Falun Gong books, computer, and materials pertaining to the persecution of Falun Gong. She is being held at the Zhonggong Detention Center.

3. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Hu Rimei, Ms. Yang Jinlan, and Ms. Lang Shuying were arrested in late March 2014. They are being held at the Shuyi Detention Center in Beijing.

4. [Nongan County, Jilin Province] Practitioner's Relatives Detained

Ms. Fu Guihua is being held in the Domestic Security Division of the Nongan Police Department. Her relatives, Ms. Wang Liqin and her daughters Ms. Yu Jianli and Ms. Yu Jianping, went to the division to ask for Ms. Fu's release on April 8, 2014. Officers from the Gucheng Police Station arrested them. They later were charged with “disturbing the social order” and detained for 10 days.

5. [Yanzhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Huiyan Arrested

Ms. Li Huiyan was arrested by officers from the Railway Police Station in Yanzhou City on April 8, 2014. Officers confiscated her computer and other personal items.

6. [Shanghai] Mr. Tang Liansheng Detained

Mr. Tang Liansheng was arrested by officers from the Jiaxing Police Station of the Hongkou District on February 28, 2014, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. He is being held at the Qingpu Brainwashing Center.

7. [Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Xiong Hongwei Detained

Mr. Xiong Hongwei was arrested by officers from the Beilin District 610 Office in Suihua City and the Jinhe Town Police Station in the Beilin District on February 13, 2014, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong in Jinhe Town. He is still being held.

8. [Pi County, Sichuan Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced

Mr. Wang Weian, Ms. Liao Dairong, Ms. Meng Yiqiu, and Mr. Ren Zuhua were each sentenced to a three-year prison term on April 9, 2014.

9. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Wei Detained

Ms. Zhang Wei was arrested by officers from the Beijinglu Police Station on the afternoon of April 7, 2014. She is being held at the police station.

10. [Xian City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Wang Qinglan Arrested

Ms. Wang Qinglan, 69, was arrested and her home was ransacked by officers from the local police station in mid-March 2014.

11. [Qidong County, Hunan Province] Mr. Kuang Zhonghua's Whereabouts Unknown; Ms. Xiao Luyun Arrested

Mr. Kuang Zhonghua was beaten and taken to the Buyunqiao Police Station on the morning of April 8, 2014. His whereabouts are unknown. Officers confiscated his computer, printer, Falun Gong books, and other personal items.

Officers also arrested Ms. Xiao Luyun the same day.

12. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Ms. Su Xiaolian Arrested

Ms. Su Xiaolian was arrested at work by officers from the local 610 Office and Chalukou Police Station on the morning of April 9, 2014.

13. [Huaihua City, Hunan Province] Four Practitioners Detained

Ms. Tang Qingying, Ms. Tang Kaiju, Ms. Yin Qiuyang, and Ms. Xiao Guiying were detained on April 9, 2014.

14. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhao Caihong Sentenced

Ms. Zhao Caihong was arrested by officers from the Daling Town Police Station and deputy director Yang Ziheng of the Acheng District Domestic Security Division on June 6, 2013, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was recently sentenced to four years in prison and is being held at the Harbin Detention Center.

15. [Hailin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Qu Lihua and Mr. Fu Pengyu Sentenced

Ms. Qu Lihua was sentenced to a five-year prison term and Mr. Fu Pengyu to three and a half years. Ms. Qu is being held at the Mudanjiang Detention Center.

16. [Taikang County, Henan Province] Mr. Wang Yujue and Ms. Wei Junlan Arrested

Mr. Wang Yujue and Ms. Wei Junlan were arrested by officers from the Taikang County Police Department on the morning of April 8, 2014.

17. [Pingyao County, Shanxi Province] Ms. Guo Zhilan and Ms. Ji Lingxian Sentenced

Ms. Guo Zhilan and Ms. Ji Lingxian were each sentenced to three years in prison. They are now in Jinzhong Prison.

18. [Taihe County, Anhui Province] Ms. Ming Xiulan Detained

Ms. Ming Xiulan was arrested at her store by officers from the Taihe County 610 Office and the Domestic Security Division of Police Department on the morning of April 7, 2014. She is being held at the Fuyang City Detention Center.

19. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhu Zhiyong's Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Zhu Zhiyong, along with Mr. Liu Mi's family, went to the county Police Department to ask for Mr. Liu's release on the morning of April 8, 2014. Mr. Zhu was detained by Bai Jie, an officer with the Domestic Security Division. Mr. Zhu's whereabouts are unknown.

20. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Gong Haiou Arrested

Ms. Gong Haiou was arrested and her home ransacked by officers from the Xinjianglu Police Station on April 5, 2014.

Ms. Gong had been incarcerated in Daqing Prison for 10 years and was released in 2011.
