Former Prosecutor Arrested Again
(Minghui.org) Officers from Jilin City Police Department arrested Mr. Zhu Yujun, the owner and general manager of Wuhan Duck Neck, a prepared-food wholesaler, at the firm's headquarters in Chaicao Town, Jilin City, on the morning of October 18, 2013. The police are attempting to frame Mr. Zhu for fabricated “gang-related” crimes.
Mr. Zhu was the former prosecutor of the Shulan City Forestry Procuratorate. He was recognized as a promising young talent by all of his colleagues.
Mr. Zhu went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong in December 1999 and was sent to a forced labor camp for one year. As a result of his appeal, he lost his job as a prosecutor. He has been arrested multiple times since.
Arrested and Detained in 2003
Officials from Shulan Forestry and the Shulan City Police Department deceived Mr. Zhu into returning to work on October 9, 2003, pretending to offer him his job back. He was arrested by the Shulan City Police Department and taken to a detention center the next afternoon. They tried to sentence him to forced labor.
Mr. Zhu went on a hunger strike to demand his release. The police force-fed him when he was hardly able to walk. Mr. Zhu was in critical condition and taken to a hospital for emergency treatment twice. The police then took him to the forced labor camp five times, but he was rejected by the camp each time. However, the police still would not release Mr. Zhu.
Mr. Zhu's elderly mother went to the 610 Office to request his release. However, Zhang Zhimin, the mayor of Shulan City, told her, “This person can't be released even if he is dead.” Later, Mr. Zhu was admitted to the Wutai Forced Labor Camp. He was monitored by four inmates. He was not allowed to sleep and was brutally tortured.
A Successful New Business
Mr. Zhu was forced to leave his hometown after he was released from prison. He and his wife opened the “Wuhan Duck Neck” store in Jilin City. He followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and conducted his business honestly. He made fresh food every day without any additives or preservatives. His customers thought highly of him.
Mr. Zhu also took good care of his employees and the branch managers. During the outbreak of H5N1 avian influenza this year, the headquarters store was losing money every day. Mr. Zhu's friends all encouraged him to close the store to stop losing money.
He said, “I cultivate Falun Dafa, so I will always consider others and be responsible to others. If I close the store, the customers will be disappointed. If we don't make fresh food every day, then we cannot supply our branch stores. This is not being responsible to branch store managers. So it would be better to run the business as usual.”
Mr. Zhu insisted that the business was to remain open regardless of the sales and the pressures he faced. His branch stores also supported him, and none of the branch stores closed due to reduced sales.
Mr. Zhu, His Family, and His Employees Arrested in 2013
The Jilin City Police Department, Jilin City Domestic Security Division, and the Domestic Security Divisions of the Chuanying, Changyi, Fengman, and Longtan District Police Departments conducted large-scale arrests of Falun Gong practitioners from the evening of October 17 to the morning of October 18, 2013. More than 30 practitioners were arrested.
Mr. Zhu, his wife, and their five-year-old daughter were arrested on October 18, 2013. All of Mr. Zhu's branch managers who went to headquarters to get new inventory and the staff who went to headquarters on other business were arrested. All the employees at the Wuhan Duck Neck branch stores were arrested, too.
Among them, Mr. Zhu Yujun, Liu Bin, Deng Xiaobo, and over 20 other practitioners were held in the Shahezi Brainwashing Center for over 10 days. Later they were transferred to the Jilin City Detention Center.
Police Fabricate Charges against Mr. Zhu
The Jilin City Political and Legal Affairs Committee, the 610 Office, and the Police Department are attempting to frame Mr. Zhu and all Wuhan Duck Neck branch store managers for “gang crimes.” Mr. Zhu has always obeyed the law in doing business and is not guilty of the crimes the police are accusing him of.
