Additional Persecution News from China – August 6, 2013 (13 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 8 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during detention, and at least 9 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Xishui County, Guizhou Province] Mr. Luo Peixu Sentenced to Prison (Summary of Case)

Director of the Xishui 610 Office Yuan Chaohua and others came to the company where Mr. Luo Peixu worked on the afternoon of September 27, 2010, and confiscated his computer and printer. They then went to his home and confiscated Falun Gong materials and a cell phone.

The next day, Mr. Luo was arrested by officers from the Xishui Domestic Security Division. After being held in police custody for 15 days, he was transferred to the Xishui Detention Center, where he was held for one month.

Mr. Luo was sentenced to three years in prison with five years of probation on March 28, 2011.

2. [Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Jiang Muzi Detained

When Ms. Jiang Muzi, a young teacher, was giving an English lesson on July 31, 2013, a group of policemen rushed in and arrested her. Ms. Jiang is being held in the Hangzhou Detention Center.

3. [Beijing] Ms. Gao Peizhi Arrested

Ms. Gao Peizhi is a retired kindergarten teacher in Cangzhou County, Hebei Province. She was arrested in Beijing on August 3, 2013. The police ransacked the home of her relatives in Beijing where she was staying and confiscated paper currency with facts about Falun Gong written on it.

4. [Zaozhuang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Qiu Baoshan Arrested

Mr. Qiu Baoshan, in his 70s, from Xuecheng District, was followed while distributing Falun Gong informational materials at Xizhong Plaza and arrested by plainclothes policemen. He is being held in the Linshan Police Station.

5. [Chongqing] Ms. Jiang Yourong Arrested

Ms. Jiang Yourong from Jiulongpo District was arrested in Yuzhong District on July 30, 2013.

6. [Wuhan, Hubei Province] Ms. Lei Jinmei Arrested

Ms. Lei Jinmei was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division of Qiaokou District Police Department and the Qiaokou 610 Office on the morning of July 31, 2013.

7. [Xianyang, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Lu Yizhong and Mr. Ma Minghai Arrested

Guo Xiaoliang led officers from the Weicheng District 610 Office and Domestic Security Division to break into Mr. Lu Yizhong's home on August 2, 2013. Mr. Lu was arrested and sent to the Hanzhong Brainwashing Center. Mr. Ma Minghai was also arrested at the same time.

8. [Tongcheng, Hubei Province] Mr. Hu Dongyuan Sent to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Hu Dongyuan was arrested by officers from the Juanshui Town Police Station on July 25, 2013. He was sent to the Wuhan Brainwashing Center.

9. [Shuangliu County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wu Zhirong Arrested

Ms. Wu Zhirong was arrested at her store on August 5, 2013. The police also confiscated her Falun Gong materials.

10. [Chongqing] Ms. Li Zhengying Arrested

Ms. Li Zhengying from Tongliang County was arrested by officers from the Guanjian Police Station on the morning of April 1, 2013, while she spoke to people about Falun Gong in Guanjian Town. The police ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books and other items.

11. [Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Sun Xiao Detained

Mr. Sun Xiao, 43, was arrested at home on July 23, 2013. The police confiscated his computer and cell phone. Mr. Sun was sent to the Wuxi No. 1 Detention Center that day.

12. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Luo Yanting Sent to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Luo Yanting was detained at work by personnel from the Doujishilipu Office on July 23, 2013. He was sent to a brainwashing center out of town.

13. [Gaozhou City, Guangdong Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Wu Youqing, Ms. Zhou Daqiong and Ms. Hu Xiuhui from Gaozhou, as well as Ms. Li Qiao and Ms. Tian Juying from Xinyi, were arrested by police while distributing Falun Gong informational materials in Wangsha Town, Xinyi City on August 1, 2013.

Ms. Zhou and Ms. Tian were released that night. Ms. Wu, Ms. Hu and Ms. Li are being held in the Xinyi Detention Center for a 10-day term.
