Additional Persecution News from China – February 28, 2013 (16 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 8 provinces. In this report, 20 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 12 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Gao Fengqin and Other Practitioners Tried

Falun Gong practitioners who were arrested by officers from the Songyuan City Domestic Security Division, Jilin Province, on April 23 and 24, 2012 were tried at the Ningjiang District Court, Songyuan City. The results were:

Ms. Gao Fengqin sentenced to twelve years in prison.

Ms. Jiang Shufang sentenced to ten years in prison.

Ms. Wang Wei sentenced to nine years in prison.

Ms. Zou Chunxiang sentenced nine years in prison.

Ms. Geng Ruifen sentenced to seven and a half years in prison.

Ms. Ren Shuyan sentenced to seven and a half years in prison.

Ms. Yu Lanxiang sentenced to seven and a half years in prison.

Mr. Liu Dianjun sentenced to four years in prison.

Mr. Cheng Guangchan sentenced to four years in prison.

Ms. Zhu Defang sentenced to four years in prison.

Ms. Wang Lingxian sentenced to three years in prison.

Ms. Huo Fenglan sentenced to three years in prison.

Ms .Zheng Shuqin sentenced to three years in prison with two years' probation.

2. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] More Information on Ms. Xia Chengmin

On April 15, 2012, when Ms. Xia Chengmin was clarifying the truth at the Dadong Plaza, she was arrested by officers from the Dadongertai Police Station. She is now being held at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp to serve a 15-month term.

3. [Beijing] Ms. Song Yushuang and Ms. Ning Fenglan Arrested

Ms. Song Yushuang from Beijing, and Ms. Ning Fenglan, 69, from the northeast were arrested at Tian'anmen Square on February 21, 2013. They are being held at the Chaoyang Detention Center.

4. [Beijing] More Information on Mr. Li Yuejin

Mr. Li Yuejin was arrested by officers from the Beijing Police Department, the Haidian District Police Department, and the Xiangshan Police Station on August 2, 2012. The police confiscated personal property including a cell phone, computer, public transportation pass, an MP4 player, and a satellite receiver. Mr. Li was sentenced to two and a half years in prison and is being held at the Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp in Daxing District. As a result of persecution in detention, he has developed symptoms of heart disease and diabetes. His family asked for his release on medical parole, but their request was rejected.

5. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] More Information on Ms. Zhou Ronglun

Ms. Zhou Ronglun, 78, was arrested by officers from the Yuexiu District Police Department when she was distributing truth-clarifying materials. On February 9, 2013, she was sentenced to three years in prison with three years probation.

6. [Shanghai] Ms. Li Ni Sentenced

Ms. Li Ni, about 40, was sentenced to five years in prison at the Changning District Court, Shanghai. She is currently held at the Changning District Detention Center.

Mr. Peng Cheng from Langfang City, was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division on February 25, 2013. His whereabouts are unknown.

8. [Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Gao Manli and Ms. Zhang Xianfen Arrested

Ms. Gao Manli and Ms. Zhang Xianfen were arrested on the morning of February 27, 2013.

9. [Shiyan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Xu Xudong Arrested

Mr. Xu Xudong, from Shiyan City, was violently arrested by six plainclothes police officers from Shiyan City on February 26, 2013, when he was at the door of his residence in Hanyang City, Hubei Province. He is being held at the hotel across the street.

Ms. Li Shuzhi and Ms. Liu Lilan, from Maqiaohe Town, Muling City, Heilongjiang Province, were arrested by officers from the local police department at noon on February 27, 2013.

11. [Xinmin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yu Lifeng Sentenced

Ms. Yu Lifeng was arrested by officers from the Xinmin Police Department on August 28, 2012. She was recently sentenced to seven years in prison and her family was not notified.

12. [Rushan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Huifang Arrested

Ms. Yu Huifang, from Rushan City, went to Shuitou Village, Haiyangsuo Town, Rushan City, to talk to people about Falun Gong, and was arrested by police officers from Rushan City on February 26, 2013. She is currently being held at the Haifeng Street Police Station.

13. [Tianjin] Ms. Chen Linyan Arrested

Ms. Chen Linyan, 50, was arrested by officers from the Wanxing Police Station, Baidi Road, Nankai District, Tianjin. She is now being held at the Nankai District Detention Center. Another practitioner, Ms. Xu Xinyu was also arrested.

14. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Yimin Arrested

Mr. Wang Yimin, in his 40s, from Qianlimuzhuang Village, Tuanwang Town, Laiyang City, Shandong Province, was arrested by uniformed police and plainclothes officers from the Tuanwang Town Police Station, as well as agents from the Laiyang City 610 Office, and the Yantai City 610 Office. They stormed into his home on the morning of February 26, 2013 and confiscated all of his Dafa books and his cell phone. Mr. Wang is being held at the Laiyang City Detention Center.

15. [Leling City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Yanqin's Term Extended

Ms. Zhang Yanqian, from Leling City, is held at the Shandong Province No. 1 Women's Forced Labor Camp. Her term was extended for one more month.

16. [Qingtongxia City, Ningxia Hui Automous Region] More Information on Ms. Wu Shanglan

Ms. Wu Shanglan, from the Second Group, Dongfanghong Village, Shaogang Town, Qingtongxia City, was arrested by officers from the Chengguan Police Station when she was distributing truth-clarifying materials on Xiaoba Street on the morning of January 27, 2013. She was handcuffed to a bench and was not allowed to use the restroom. She was released that night.

On August 26, 2006, she was arrested and taken to the Yinchuan City Detention Center.
