(Minghui.org) May 13, 2013, marks the 21st anniversary of the introduction of Falun Dafa to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa. On April 15, 2013, Mr. Bill Hennessy, Mayor of the City of O'Fallon, Missouri, proclaimed May, 13, 2013, as “Falun Dafa Day Honoring Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance” in the City of O'Fallon.

Recognition of Falun Dafa Day

Whereas, Falun Dafa (also called Falun Gong, or just Dafa) is a high-level, body-mind-spirit cultivation practice consisting of exercise, meditation and teachings guided by the characteristics of the universe - Truthfulness - Compassion, and Tolerance; and

Whereas, since Master Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa, introduced the practice in May of 1992, the practice of Falun Dafa has helped hundreds of millions across the world improve their health and moral standards, as well as deepen their understanding of life, humanity and the universe; and

Whereas, more men and women of the United States are learning the practice and purifying their hearts, energizing their bodies, and striving to create virtuous communities; and

Whereas, Falun Dafa practitioners in Missouri note stress reduction, health improvement and spiritual growth; and

Whereas, Falun Dafa, which is offered by volunteers and free of charge, is practiced by many professional citizens of all ages in Missouri; and

Whereas, numerous practitioners of Falun Dafa are persecuted in China for their beliefs which in an attack on basic human rights and should not be tolerated anywhere in the world;

Whereas, the persecution of the practitioners of Falun Dafa in China is an attack on the basic human rights an should not be tolerated anywhere in the world.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BILL Hennessy, Mayor and the Council members of the City of O’Fallon, do hereby proclaim May 13, 2013, as “Falun Dafa Day Honoring Truthfulness- Compassion-Tolerance” in the City of O’Fallon, Missouri.
