Additional Persecution News from China – January 12, 2013 (9 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 5 provinces. According to this report, 27 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 2 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Guiying Severely Persecuted at Liaoning Women's Prison

Ms. Wang Guiying, 43, from the Changdian area of Anshan City was sentenced to three years in prison. She is being held at Ward No. 4, Section No. 5, of Liaoning Province Women's Prison. Her family is not allowed to visit her. She is forced to do hard labor from 6:40 a.m. till 7 p.m., with hardly any time to rest. When she finishes work, she is forced to sit on a small stool until 10 p.m.

2. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Deqing Arrested

Mr. Liu Deqing from Jinzhou City was arrested at his rental home by officers from Jinzhou 610 Office on the morning of January 9, 2013. His home was ransacked.

3. [Gaizhou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Xingjun, Mr. Cheng Yankai and Ms. Wang Ying Facing Trial

Mr. Li Xingjun, Mr. Cheng Yankai and Ms. Wang Ying were detained for over six months and scheduled to be tried on the morning of January 14, 2013, at Gaizhou City Court.

4. [Beijing] Mr. Zhao Fugui Sent to Beijing No. 1 Detention Center

Mr. Zhao Fugui was transferred to Beijing No. 1 Detention Center on January 10, 2013.

5. [Houma City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Zhao Jianhua Harassed After Being Released from Prison

Ms. Zhao Jianhua from Xindian Village, Houma City, was released from Yuci Women's Prison on September 8, 2012, after completing her five-year sentence. However, since then she has been repeatedly harassed by officer Shi, Communist Party secretary of Jishan County Political and Legal Affairs Committee, and officers from the Jishan County 610 Office.

6. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Chu Liwen Denied Family Visits While Detained

Mr. Chu Liwen from Taibaozhuang Town, Xiashan District, Weifang City, was deprived of his right to have family visits while being held in the Shandong No. 2 Detention Center. When his daughter and son-in-law tried to visit him, the guards refused to let them see Mr. Chu, claiming that Mr. Chu did not cooperate with them and refused to renounce his belief in Falun Gong.

7. [Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Wei Zhenmei Sentenced to Forced Labor

Ms. Wei Zhenmei, in her 30s, originally from Guangxi Province, came to Zhongshan City to work. She was arrested in May 2012 while talking to people about Falun Gong and taken to the Zhongshan Detention Center. Since then, she has been sentenced to forced labor and sent to a forced labor camp near Guangzhou.

8. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Han Chunlong Tortured in Dandong No. 1 Detention Center

Mr. Han Chunlong is being held in Dandong No. 1 Detention Center. His lawyer visited him on January 9, 2013. According to the lawyer, Mr. Han is being force-fed and needs to carry a urinary catheter every day. He is extremely weak and can't walk on his own. He is even handcuffed and shackled when he sleeps.

9. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Multiple Practitioners Incarcerated, Two Missing

Ms. Jia Guirong, from Baicheng City in Jilin Province, was arrested in Qinhuangdao City. She is currently detained in the Heizuizi Women's Prison in Changchun City.

Mr. Chen Qijiang from the Shanhaiguan District of Qinhuangdao is being held in the Jidong Prison in Tangshan City, Hebei. Ms. Meng Chu and Ms. Zhang Fengying from Funing County and Ms. Ding Shurong from Changli County in Qinhuangdao are being held in Shijiazhuang Women's Prison.

Ms. Li Shanshan from Changli County and Ms. Lu Suqin from Mutoudeng Town, Qinglong County, are being held in the Hebei Province Women's Forced Labor Camp. Mr. Cui Aijun is being held in Qinhuangdao No. 1 Detention Center.

Mr. Wang Jianhua from the Beidaihe District is detained in Tiebei Prison in Meihekou City, Jilin Province. Mr. Song Zhiyu from the Haigang District in Qinhuangdao is detained in Bao'anzhao Prison in Jalaid Banner, Hinggan, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

Mr. Zhang Hong and Mr. Liu Fusheng are being held in the Tumuji Forced Labor Camp in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.Mr. Zhang Jianping is being held in the Hangzhou City No. 2 Prison in Zhejiang Province. Mr. Zhang Yang is being held in Shijiazhuang Prison. Mr. Wei Xiang is being held in the Zhejiang Province No. 4 Prison.

Mr. Chang Cheng and Mr. Lou Jindong have been forced to become homeless to avoid being arrested.

Mr. Wei Xiyou from Lulong County and Mr. Zhang Wei from Changli County in Hebei Province are missing.

Mr. Liu Bi from Lulong County, Hebei Province, was arrested by officers from Panzhuang Town Police Station on August 23, 2012. He was beaten up and has been sentenced to one year of forced labor.
