Additional Persecution News from China – February 1, 2013 (13 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in six provinces. According to this report, three Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during detention, and at least 14 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Wudalianchi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhuang Yuhua Detained

Ms. Zhuang Yuhua from the Zhanhe Forest Bureau in Wudalianchi was illegally arrested on January 7, 2013 by local officers for distributing Falun Gong informational materials at the Yinlonghe Farm. She was then held in the Zhanhe Forest Bureau Detention Center, and on January 31, taken to the Beian Agriculture Reclamation Bureau.

2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Hou Guishan Detained

Mr. Hou Guishan is 80 years old. Officers from the Dalian Police Department Xigang Branch and the Xianglujiao Police Station confiscated Falun Gong informational materials, calendars and Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs from Mr. Hou's home on January 29, 2013. Mr. Hou was taken to the Xianglujiao Police Station, where he was subjected to interrogation until 6 p.m. that day. He was then released.

3. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhang Xiaoxing Detained

Mr. Zhang Xiaoxing from Chengde City was arrested by deputy director Zhang Heping from the Tougou Police Station on the morning of January 31, 2013, for distributing DVDs which explained the facts about Falun Gong.

4. [Shenzhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Landuo and Mr. Pin Detained

Ms. Liu Landuo is from Chanyuan Village, Tangfeng Township, Shenzhou City. Officers from the Township Police Station scaled a wall, forced entry to her home and arrested her on January 30, 2013. She is currently being held in the Shenzhou City Detention Center.

Mr. Pin from Anping County was arrested by Chengguan Town Police Station officers on the afternoon of January 20, 2013. He is currently being held in the Hengshui City Detention Center.

5. [Changzhi City, Shanxi Province] Mr. Shen Shuangcai Detained

Mr. Shen Shuangcai, in his 70's, is from Changzhi City. He was detained on December 3, 2012 by railway policemen for distributing amulets on a train. He was held for 28 hours and then taken to the Taiyuan Railway Police Station. Officers confiscated his personal belongings, including a cell phone, a computer, printer, identification papers, an MP3 player and over 3,000 yuan ($482 USD) in cash. He was released on December 6, 2012.

6. [Bozhou City, Anhui Province] Ms. Ge Zhenqin Detained

Ms. Ge Zhenqin, in her 50's, was recently arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong. She is currently being held in the Bozhou City Detention Center.

7. [Tianjin] Ms. Zhao Yuzhi Detained

Ms. Zhao Yuzhi from Hexi District, Tianjin was arrested in October, 2012 for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. She is currently being held in the Hexi Detention Center.

8. [Tianmen City, Hubei Province] Ms. He Meirong Detained

Ms. He Meirong from Tianmen City is an English language teacher at Zaoshi Town High School. She was arrested on the morning of October 17, 2012 while teaching a class. She was held in the Banqiao Brainwashing Center in Wuhan City and then taken to a forced labor camp at the end of December, 2012.

9. [Hengyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Zeng Xiaochun and Husband Detained

Ms. Zeng Xiaochun from Lubianshan Village, Guanjiazui Town, Qidong County was detained by a village cadre on January 30, 2013 for explaining the facts about Falun Gong. She was taken to the Huangtupu Police Station. Her husband was also detained when he went to the police station to request his wife's release.

10. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Wei Chuanmao and Wife Detained

Mr. Wei Chuanmao, 66, and his wife Ms. Liu Guoxin, 62, are from Wuchang District, Wuhan City. They were arrested by officers from the 610 Office on January 25, 2013 for explaining the facts about Falun Gong in Yongfeng Township, Hanyang District. Ms. Liu was taken to the Wuhan City No.1 Detention Center for a 15-day term. Some individuals think that Mr. Wei is being held at an unknown location in Taojialing, Hanyang District.

11. [Beijing] Ms. Cui Xiuzhen Arrested

Ms. Cui Xiuzhen from Botou City, Hebei Province was taken to the Beijing Women's Prison in the beginning of 2012 for talking to people about Falun Gong. She has now been held for 11 months.

12. [Tianjin] Mr. Hua Lianyou and Wife Persecuted

Mr. Hua Lianyou from Tianjin was arrested and subjected to cruel torture many times. He was arrested on April 24, 2012, and then sentenced to prison. He has been on a hunger strike for eight months in order to protest the persecution. He subsequently developed symptoms of organ failure and is now in critical condition, but Binhai Prison authorities still refused to release him. His wife Ms. Tian Zongli is still being held in the Beichen Detention Center.

13. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Deyan Detained

Squadron leader Peng Yue and over ten other officers from the Fushun City Police Department No.1 Division forced entry into Ms. Zhang Deyan's home on the morning of April 15, 2012. They ransacked her home and then took Ms. Zhang to the Nangou Detention Center in Fushun. Her family was denied visitation.
