Additional Persecution News from China – November 10, 2013 (19 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 3 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during detention, and at least 60 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Changchun, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced to Prison, One Tortured

Officers from the Erdao Police Department and Shunjie Police Station arrested Ms. Jiang Tao, Ms. Liu Yanjun and Ms. Liu Yanchun on September 13, 2012.

The Erdao District Court sentenced them to prison on June 18, 2013. Ms. Jiang was sentenced to three years, and the other practitioners to two years. Ms. Liu Yanjun and Ms. Liu Yanchun were transferred to the Jilin Provincial Women's Prison.

Ms. Liu Yanjun was tortured in mid-October 2013 until she was in critical condition. She was then taken to the emergency room. Her hands and feet remained cuffed. The police didn't allow her family to visit her.

2. [Dalian, Liaoning Province] Ms. Hou Guizhi Sent to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Hou Guizhi was taken to the Dalian Brainwashing Center on the morning of November 7, 2013.

3. [Jixi, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhao Chunyan Sentenced to Five Years in Prison

Ms. Zhao Chunyan from Hengshan District has been incarcerated in a detention center. The Hengshan District Court sentenced her to five years in prison on October 28, 2013.

While detained, Ms. Zhao went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. She was force-fed and became extremely weak.

4. [Shenyang, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhao Yanan Sent to Brainwashing Center Following Detention

Ms. Zhao Yanan is a student at the Xiongshi School in Shenyang. She was recently incarcerated in a detention facility for practicing Falun Gong. When her term expired, Wang Feng, the associate chief of the Xiaoshi Police Station, picked her up from the detention center and took her straight to the Liaoning Provincial Brainwashing Center.

5. [Beijing] Ms. Liu Danyu Detained

Zhang Lixin, the Chinese Communist Party secretary of the Caoxiju Neighborhood Committee, deceived Ms. Liu Danyu into coming to the committee's office on November 7, 2013. The committee colluded with officers from the Qianmen Police Station to arrest her. Ms. Liu was incarcerated in a detention facility located at the Minghuang Resort in Changling, Changping District.

6. [Lanzhou, Gansu Province] Ms. Li Kuangfeng Detained

Ms. Li Kuangfeng delivered materials about Falun Gong to an elderly couple in Jiuquan around October 26, 2013. She was arrested by officers from the Jiuquan Domestic Security Division, who had been waiting there. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her computer, printer and informational materials about Falun Gong. Ms. Li is being held in the Jiuquan Detention Center.

7. [Hefei, Anhui Province] Ms. Shen Lichun Arrested, Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Shen Lichun, about 50, was arrested in early October 2013. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

8. [Beijing] Ms. Wang Xiuzhen Arrested, Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Wang Xiuzhen was arrested at home on September 24, 2013. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

9. [Chibi, Hubei Province] Ms. Wu Hanxiang Sent to Brainwashing Center

Officers from the Chibi 610 Office arrested Ms. Wu Hanxiang in a farmers' market and took her to the Xianning Brainwashing Center on the morning of October 8, 2013.

10. [Mianyang, Sichuan Province] Mr. Sun Houze Arrested

Mr. Sun Houze was arrested by officers from the Xinzao Town Police Station when he went to school to pick up his child on the afternoon of November 8, 2013.

11. [Haikou, Hainan Province] Mr. Pan Xinren Arrested, Mr. Sun Tingbai Tortured

Mr. Pan Xinren, Mr. Sun Tingbai and several other practitioners were arrested in August 2013. Mr. Sun was tortured in custody; he was hung up by handcuffs and beaten for more than 10 days.

12. [Chengdu, Sichuan Province] Twelve Practitioners Detained

Twelve practitioners were recently arrested and are being held in the Pengzhou Detention Center. They are:

Ms. Li Yongxian, Ms. Yi Sixiu, Ms. Wang Xiaoping, Ms. Su Guiju and Ms. Zhang Jiaqiong—from Longfeng Town.
Ms. Xu Deqiong, Ms. Wu Xiuying, Mr. Yin Xiansong and Ms. Zhou Yuxue—from Danjingshan Town.
Ms. Yang Qiru from Xingxin Town.
Mr. Zhao Qiang and Ms. Li Mei from Tongji Town.

13. [Weifang, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Meilian Held in Brainwashing Center

Ms. Wang Meilian from Yangmeng Village, Dongjia, Hanting District, was arrested around November 5, 2013. She is being detained in the Zhuli Brainwashing Center in Hanting District.

14. [Liyang, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhang Meiying Arrested

Ms. Zhang Meiying was arrested by officers from the Liyang Domestic Security Division and Ximen Police Station on November 8, 2013.

15. [Xianning, Hubei Province] Ms. Huang Qiuzhen Sent to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Huang Qiuzhen, a worker of the Xianning Cigarette Factory, was arrested by four plainclothes officers while talking to people about Falun Gong on the morning of November 7, 2013. She was taken to the brainwashing center located in the “Xianning Drug Rehabilitation Center” facility. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her personal property.

16. [Xianning, Hubei Province] Mr. Li Xuezhong Sent to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Li Xuezhong was arrested on the morning of November 1, 2013, at his workplace, the Xianfeng Paper Factory. Officers from the Chalukou Police Station made the arrest. They took Mr. Li to the brainwashing center located in the “Xianning Drug Rehabilitation Center” facility. The police also ransacked his home.

17. [Dongyuan County, Guangdong Province] Mr. Qiu Hannong Sentenced to Forced Labor

Mr. Qiu Hannong from Chuantang Town was arrested while talking to people about Falun Gong in September 2013. He was recently sentenced to three years of forced labor.

18. [Shenyang, Liaoning Province] Ms. Guo Guiying Arrested, Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Guo Guiying, 52, was arrested when she visited her classmate in Shenyang on November 6, 2013. She was taken to the Zhongxing Police Station. Ms. Guo managed to escape when the police searched her home, but was arrested again on the evening of November 8. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

Prior to the arrest, Ms. Guo worked on the Hunhe Farm in Sujiatun District.

19. [Anhua County, Hunan Province] Mr. Xiao Jingqing Held in Brainwashing Center

Mr. Xiao Jingqing has been detained in the Heshan District Brainwashing Center.
