(Minghui.org) Several months ago, I told a practitioner in Taiwan who worked with me on a project that I often read articles from The Epoch Times. I thought some of the articles were quite inspiring. During that time, I was lax in cultivation and was not diligent. This practitioner said to me, “We should be using our valuable time to study the Fa more. Master said, '...study the Fa well and abundantly—and do so frequently—become true cultivators of Dafa, and shoulder the responsibility of helping Dafa to spread widely and save sentient beings.' (“To The First Fa Conference in India”)” She continued, “I recently looked inward to see if I have made the greatest effort to study the Fa well and frequently, and realized that I have not studied the Fa often. The Fa enlightened me and I immediately tried to catch up.”
Master said,
“As a student, if his mind is filled with nothing but Dafa, this person is definitely a genuine cultivator. So you must have a clear understanding on the matter of studying the Fa. Reading the books more and studying the books more is the key to truly elevating yourself. To put it more simply, as long as you read Dafa, you are changing; as long as you read Dafa, you are elevating. The boundless content of Dafa plus the supplementary means—the exercises—will enable you to reach Consummation.” (“Melting Into The Fa” from Essentials For Further Advancement)
The practitioner added, “Our wisdom and abilities are given by Dafa. Prior to practicing Falun Gong, I was not a capable person and didn't have many skills. But after I became a practitioner, my wisdom and abilities increased. I learned some computer skills, and practitioners even asked me to help them with their problems. I'm not patting myself on the back; I just noticed that after studying the Fa well, the Fa gave me wisdom and abilities, and lots of amazing things happened.” Her sharing touched me, and I saw the gap in my cultivation.
I had previously started to transcribe Zhuan Falun, but stopped on page 180. Several months ago I continued to transcribe where I left off. I'm on page 250 now and continue to transcribe every day. I have recited Zhuan Falun twice, from beginning till end, but stopped on the third round. Not too long ago, I continued to recite where I left off. I'm studying the Fa more—and with more frequency—and becoming more diligent. Whenever I have time, I study the Fa, do the three things well, visit other websites less, and visit the Minghui website more often.
It did not take me long to get rid of that lax state of mind. Now all I think about is how to do the three things well and save more sentient beings. Every day I clarify the truth on the Internet and to the local Chinese people. Master said, “Only by studying the Fa more can your righteous thoughts be ample, and only by studying the Fa well can a Dafa disciple fulfill his or her historic mission.” (“To the Brazil Fa Conference”)
