Retired Kindergarten Teacher Ms. Liu Yongfen from Hunan Province Sent to Forced Labor Three Times Within Two Months

(Minghui.org) Officers from the Chaling County Domestic Security Division recently made three attempts to send a 61-year-old retired kindergarten teacher, Ms. Liu Yongfen, to the Baimalong Women's Forced Labor Camp within two months just for speaking with people Falun Gong. For the same reason, she was previously subjected to prison and forced labor terms for a total of 8 years. At one point, the physical abuse and torture left her paralyzed from the waist down.

The most recent arrest took place on July 4, 2012, as Ms. Liu spoke with people about Falun Gong in the underpass in downtown Zhuzhou City. She was later taken to Baimalong Forced Labor Camp by officials from the Chaling County Domestic Security Division. However, the labor camp officials refused to admit her when a physical exam revealed her poor health. Several days later, officers from the same division took Ms. Liu to Baimalong for a second time and forced the camp officials to accept her. Ms. Liu had difficulty walking, so she was dragged into a cell. Even though she couldn't take care of herself, she was still held there for a month, until early August. Her condition did not improve, so the camp officials sent her to her original workplace, Xiangdong Iron Mine in Chaling County, where she was put under house arrest.

Within ten days, Ms. Liu regained her health through practicing Falun Gong. Seeing she was well, the Chaling Domestic Security Division officials made a third attempt to admit her to the same forced labor camp. Ms. Liu has been held there even since.

Ms. Liu was previously persecuted many times for speaking with people about Falun Gong and the persecution. In December 2000, she was sentenced to four years in Hunan Province Women's Prison. She served another four years when she was sent to Baimalong Forced Labor Camp in May 2005. As a result of eight years of physical abuse and torture, she was paralyzed from the waist down and many of her internal organs were severely damaged. She was released on bail in April 2009 to get medical treatment. Upon returning home she continued to practice, and, once again, she regained her health.
