(Minghui.org) On April 29, 2012, the 17th anniversary of Falun Gong's introduction to Taiwan, 7,400 Falun Gong practitioners assembled at Freedom Square in Taipei and formed the image of Master Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Gong. The practitioners prepared for three days for this event, and those who participated in the preparation and image formation all felt that the atmosphere was magnificent and solemn. They felt honored and fortunate to be personally involved in this grand feat.

Successfully Forming the Image of Revered Master to Celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Falun Dafa's Introduction to the Public
The practice of forming Chinese characters originated in China many years ago. Taiwan has the second largest number of practitioners in the world, short of China, so there are plenty of practitioners available for such an activity. According to the practitioner who was in charge of planning this formation activity, following the image formation activity held on November 26, 2011, they once again formed the image of Master Li Hongzhi with approximately the same number of practitioners this year. The organizers said that the activity was very meaningful. It expresses the appreciation from the practitioners, and also expresses the wish that more people learn the wonderfulness of Falun Dafa.
Falun Gong Vigorously Develops in Taiwan
Since Falun Gong was introduced to Taiwan in April 1995, Falun Gong has continued to spread fast in Taiwan over the past 17 years. Its many benefits have been well recognized by levels of government, and received wide support from all walks of society. One thousand practice sites have been established in more than 300 townships and towns. There are even more than a dozen practice sites in the offshore islands of Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu.
The Chinese Communist Party and Jiang's regime have brutally persecuted Falun Gong practitioners in China since July 1999. As of today, at least 3,500 practitioners have been verified to have died as a result of the persecution. Countless practitioners have been subjected to forced labor, detention, and become disabled due to the physical abuse and torture, unable to pursue studies, lost their jobs, become homeless, and even had their families torn apart, and their loved ones killed in the persecution.
Call for Justice and Conscience and Work Together to Stop the Persecution
Practitioners in Taiwan have held large-scale activities over the past 13 years to raise people's awareness about the persecution of Falun Gong and inspire people's kind thoughts and conscience, and call upon people from all walks of life to help stop the persecution.
