(Minghui.org) I am 44 years old. I live in Zhaozhou County, Heilongjiang Province and am employed at a privately owned shop in Beijing. One night, about 11:00 p.m., I suddenly had an excruciatingly painful headache. I went to Tiantan Hospital in Beijing for an exam in the middle of the night and was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Three days later, I was transferred to the Harbin Tumor Hospital for surgery.
After the surgery, the doctor said, "The surgery was not quite successful, as we couldn't remove the entire tumor. We feared that we might injure the cranial nerve, which could result in your being in a vegetative state."
After returning home, my condition got worse by the day. I returned to the hospital, where I underwent 45 days of radiation, which was not successful. Then, I needed chemotherapy, costing more than 10,000 yuan, which I couldn't afford. The doctor said, “Without chemotherapy you will live another three to six months. You are so young, it would be a pity." What choice did I have? I had run out of money and so just went home.
I wasn't feeling very well, so I went to the Western and Oriental Medicine Oncology Institute in Shenyang for treatment. I spent more than 6,000 yuan on oral drugs and external ointments. After returning home, my condition gradually worsened and I became depressed.
One day I visited my uncle and told him that my life was meaningless and I should become a monk. My uncle and his wife are Falun Gong practitioners. They said, "Why become a monk? You should practice Falun Gong! You can practice at home. You don't need to become a monk.”
After hearing this, I was happy, but I didn't think that I wanted to start the practice immediately. So, they asked me to believe and recite from deep within my heart, "Falun Dafa is good and Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good," daily. After some time, my health improved and I could walk without any support. Greatly encouraged, I was ready to start practicing Falun Gong.
I went to my uncle's home to learn the exercises. On the fifth day, the surgical scar on top of my head became smaller. Every night during sleep I had the sensation that someone was massaging my wound. I was pleasantly surprised and thought that Master was purifying my body.
There were big changes in my body, but my family members were not convinced. They demanded that I take drugs and alternative medicines. I went along with their wishes for a long time, so I still suffered the same symptoms as before, which got worse when I increased the medication. I suffered epileptic seizures several times a day.
I studied Zhuan Falun diligently and began to understand the Fa principle about eliminating karma. Once I understood that principle, I threw out the drugs and alternative medicines. From that day on I no longer suffered any symptoms, including epileptic seizures. Truly encouraged, I persisted in studying the Fa and practicing the exercises daily and my health gradually improved.
One day when returning to my uncle's home after group Fa-study I saw a bike outside his home. I told him, "Now I can ride a bicycle." My uncle said, "Then you should ride this bike!" I rode the bike to my home, a distance of about 400 to 500 meters, without any problem.
My friends were startled upon seeing me on the bicycle. They said, "In the past he needed two to three people to help him walk. Now, he can ride a bicycle!" The next day I delivered cucumber seeds on my tricycle to someone's home. The village people were surprised and said, "This Falun Dafa is truly miraculous."
During the 2008 Olympic Games, officials from every village, commune, and the local police station went to each practitioner's home. We were just studying the Fa. The production brigade secretary and a group of people broke into my home, asking "What are you doing here?" I told them that we were studying the Fa. Brigade Secretary Zhao said, "This is our production brigade secretary Zhang's son. He had an incurable brain tumor and he was only going to live for another three to six months. He was cured after he began practicing Falun Dafa several years ago. I was really awe-stricken." Another cadre said, "People that suffer an incurable illness have no other choice but to practice Falun Gong.” He said to me, “You should practice diligently." Then, they left.
On another occasion, the county government gave wheelchairs to disabled people and sent one to me. I did not take it and said, "I am not a disabled person. I am a Falun Gong practitioner." Some people urged me to take it, "You are really silly! Why don't you take it? It is free. Even if you don't need it you can sell it and pocket the money." I said, "We practitioners will not take what we have not earned."
For these several years, I have persisted in studying the Fa and practicing the exercises daily. I study at least one or two lectures of Zhuan Falun daily. I also participate in talking to people about Falun Gong and clarifying the truth.
Master and Dafa gave me a second life. I will do the three things that Master asked us to do. I will cultivate steadfastly to be worthy of Master's grace.
