(Minghui.org) Mr. Shi Zenglei is a former employee at the Mengyin County Farm Machinery Company. His mind and body improved tremendously after he began to practice Falun Gong. After the CCP began persecuting practitioners in July 1999, he went to Beijing in January 2000 to appeal. After being held at the detention center for one month, he was detained at his workplace. His workplace officials ordered thugs to viciously beat him, and a heavy wooden chair was destroyed after being used to beat him many times. Because of the beating, Mr. Shi lost consciousness for more than 20 minutes and his internal organs were damaged. He could not breathe deeply for more than one month afterwards.

After he was sentenced in March 2003, Mr. Shi was sent to Shandong Province Prison. While imprisoned these past 9 years, he was kept in solitary confinement and beaten. In addition to the physical and mental torture, his sleep and access to the toilet were highly restricted. As a result, Mr. Shi was in a life-threatening condition several times.

Tortured by 610 Office Agents: Dragged Behind a Motorcycle and Boiling Water Poured Over Him

Agents from Mengyin County 610 Office and Domestic Security Division arrested several practitioners in September 2002, including Mr. Shi Zhenglei, Ms. Liu Shufen (who died as a result of the Mengyin 610 Office's brutality), Zhao Chuanwen, and Wu Zengjian. These practitioners were sent to a brainwashing center run by the 610 Office.

Fang Simin and other thugs beat Mr. Shi brutally. As a result he was unable to stand up and he urinated blood for about 10 days. They also bound both his hands with wires and tied him to a motorcycle. The thugs drove the motorcycle away, dragging Mr. Shi behind. His flesh was ripped open and he bled from several places in his body.

Lei Yancheng, head of the Mengyin 610 Office, poured boiling water over Mr. Shi's face and body, causing burns in many places.

Pressured by the 610 Office, Mr. Shi is sentenced to 11 years of imprisonment

On March 28, 2003, a Mengyin Court held an “opening” hearing for several practitioners who had been detained for six months, including Teng Derong, Gong Maohai, Gong Shuhua, Wu Zengjian, and Mr. Shi.

After the hearing, court officials announced that Mr. Shi was sentenced to 11 years of imprisonment, Gong Maohai and Teng Derong were both given 14 years, while Gong Shuhua and Wu Zengjian were each given 13 years. Mr. Shi was sent to Shandong Men's prison on July 22, 2003.

Shandong Men's Prison: a vicious facility where practitioners are tortured

After Mr. Shi was sent to prison, several guards in Division 11 were involved in his persecution, including Li Wei, Zhang Leiguang, and Chen Yan. They put Mr. Shi in a separate room. Qu Wenguang and other inmates forced him to sit on a small stool without moving for many hours, from morning till night. While sitting in that position, he was forced to listen to CCP lies that defamed Falun Gong. Mr. Shi was also forced to stand or squat down while covering his head with his arms. He was only allowed to sleep for two hours each day, and sometimes he was denied sleep for several days in a row. When he needed to use the toilet, he was not allowed until he said he was a criminal. Because he refused to do so, Mr. Shi was forced to urinate or defecate in his pants.

In March 2004, prison officials told more than 10 inmates to brutally beat Mr. Shi, including Zhang Leiguang (prison division head), Li Wei (political head), and Chen Yan (deputy head). The inmates shoved him down onto a solid wooden chair and beat him. Due to the violence and force of the beating, the chair was broken.

Guards also ordered inmates to put drugs into Mr. Shi's food. As a result, he could not eat normally for a long time and often vomited after he ate anything.

On June 20, 2005, Ding Chang and Chai Guangming tortured Mr. Shi. They did not allow him to sleep or use the toilet. They also covered him with a quilt and told thugs to beat him. Because Mr. Shi could not tolerate this anymore, he knocked his head against the wall to protest. His neck was broken and he was sent to a hospital for surgery. Eight screws were surgically inserted to fix his neck vertebrae. Even though his physical condition was very fragile, several inmates ganged up on him, pressing down on his four limbs and chest, nearly killing him.

In February 2009, Mr. Shi, Wang Fucheng, and Lu Zhen (who later died in Shandong Prison) were put in solitary confinement. Mr. Shi was forced to sit on a small stool for a long time and press his knees against the wall. Thugs sometimes used strong lights to hurt his eyes.

When Mr. Shi bought daily necessity items in late March 2011, inmate head Liu Dong stopped him for no reason. When Mr. Shi tried to report this to the guards, Liu Dong and Xie Tao sent him to an intensified unit. Six thugs then beat him hard one night in early April, including Yang Hongyou, Zhang Xiaoyou, and Xu Lei. At that time, Mr. Shi was already very weak and due to his neck fracture a steel plate had already been surgically installed.
