(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Peng Guixiang was arrested at her home which is located close to Quancheng Square in Jinan City on the morning of October 18, 2012. It was reported that officers from Jinan Center District Procuratorate and Court and local police participated in the arrest.
Ms. Peng, in her 60s, was arrested on February 10, 2012, when she handed a DVD containing truth clarifying videos about Falun Gong to a plainclothes police officer. After she was detained at the Qilishan Police Station, she was taken to the Jinan Detention Center and tortured. Because she didn't pass the physical, she was released on March 6.
However, following the Jinan Center District 610 Office's orders, Zhang Jun from the 610 Office, Wang Yang from the Qilishan Police Station, and other officers from the Center District Procuratorate went to Ms. Peng's home on July 27 and threatened to put her on trial. Ms. Peng explained to them the facts behind the persecution of Falun Gong and resisted. But the officials didn't give up and arranged for people stake out her home and monitor her daily activities. They also tried to persecute other practitioners who came to visit Ms. Peng. In the end, Ms. Peng was forced to leave home. One month later, she returned home and was there only two weeks before she was illegally arrested again.
Since the communist regime started the persecution of Falun Gong, Ms. Peng has been arrested four times. In March 2003, she was detained in the Shandong No. 1 Women's Forced Labor Camp (also known as Jiangshuiquan Forced Labor Camp). While she was serving her three-year sentence, she was subjected to brainwashing, forced feeding, forced labor, and other torture such as being hung up or the torture method called “Stewing the eagle.” She was also not allowed to go to the restroom and was injected with unknown drugs. Her heart was affected, and she was near death. The guards also stripped off all her clothes, hung her up, and beat her. They tortured her both physically and mentally.
On the morning of October 18, 2012, officers from Qilishan Police Station and Jinan Center District Police Department also arrested practitioners Mr. Meng Xiangping, 62, and his wife Ms. Li Peilan, 60. Mr. Meng was held in the Zhangzhuang Detention Center for 15 days. Another practitioner, Kong, who lived close to Quancheng Square, was also arrested.
According to informed sources, on October 18 the communist regime carried out large-scale arrests of Falun Gong practitioners nationwide in preparation for the 18th Party National Congress.
