(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhao Jun, 53, from Xichang City, Sichuan Province was recently illegally sentenced to three years of imprisonment. She has appealed to the Intermediate Court in Lianshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture.

Ms. Zhao worked as the office chief at Tongde Construction Company. She began practicing Falun Gong in 2006 and has greatly benefited in mind and body. In order to clarify the truth about Falun Gong, she often told people what she had personally experienced and the facts about regime's persecution. She was arrested and sent to the Xiaomiao Detention Center in Xichang City when she was telling people about Falun Gong on November 30, 2010. The Xichang City Procuratorate issued a warrant for the arrest a month later, on December 28, 2010, and an unisigned warrant was subsequently sent to her company by the Xichang City Domestic Security Division.

After Ms. Zhao was arrested, her parents kept inquiring at the courts and procuratorates for information about their daughter. They didn’t know that she had been sentenced to imprisonment until the Mid-Autumn Festival, the traditional Chinese holiday which is considered a joyous time of family reunions. They cannot believe that their daughter was arrested simply for telling others the facts.

Ms. Zhao’s father is 79 years old and is partially paralyzed due to suffering a stroke. Her mother is also in her 70s and has poor hearing and eyesight. Her younger brother is a blind mental patient. The whole family depends on Ms. Zhao to look after them, and is now suffering hardships as a result of her arrest.
