(Clearwisdom.net) On the evening on December 23, 2008, the Divine Performing Arts (DPA) New York Company performed in Cincinnati, OH. The DPA presented a show that featured the beauty and compassion of 5000 years of Chinese culture.

Renowned gospel singer Ms. Kay Barksdale

Renowned gospel singer Ms. Kay Barksdale attended the show. She said, "I enjoyed so much of the show. It has really been... words cannot even express what I have gotten from the first half."

Ms. Barksdale used to be a singer at a country club. In 1977, she was at the Beverly Hills Supper Club in northern Kentucky when a raging fire broke out. She lost her voice as a result of the fire. She regained her voice three months later and decided to dedicate her life to singing gospel songs in churches. She has performed all over Cincinnati. The Mayor of Cincinnati, Mark Mallory, named December 8 "Kay Barksdale's Day in Cincinnati."

Being a soloist herself, Ms. Barksdale was especially impressed with singers in the show. "I sang along with him because what he was singing we could see in translation in English on the screen. The song was just beautiful. He was singing a song of God, and I am a gospel singer so I can relate to what he was talking about.

"The first part of the show impressed me--seeing the dancers go beyond and into the sky. I even saw behind the lady who was singing an image of God. Being a religious woman and one of the gospel singers here in the city, I could see that she was singing about God and God was watching over her while she sang.

"I am a great dancer myself, as I had been one of the greatest dancers in my class at high school. I knew what it was like to be graceful, just like in the way they perform. I just wish I could have been one of those dancers. The performers are so beautiful. All of the girls are so beautiful. The colors are so vibrant. It's like how God has made them flowers. There are so many colors in the attire of the dancers. It's just so beautiful.

"And to see how they are transformed from the stage into air--that was so dynamic. I was very impressed with that and I thought, 'How do they do that?!' The show itself is so impressive. I have never seen anything like it."
