America Attacked by Terrorists; Manhattan in a State of Emergency

On the morning of September 11, 2001, America was attacked by terrorists. Two airplanes that had been hijacked crashed into the World Trade Center in Manhattan, New York City (CNN photos) at about nine o'clock this morning. Before noon, the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center had collapsed one after the other. The number of casualties cannot be determined at this time. Telecommunications in certain major areas of New York City are down, electricity and water has been cut, and transportation has been seriously disrupted. Lower Manhattan as shown on television is a mass of smoke and debris.

"If you sue us, we will kill you." These chilling words were the conclusion of a violent attack on Falun Gong practitioners that seemed to belong more to the streets of Beijing than to the streets of Chicago.
