Zhou Shuqinq, a female in her fifties and also a teacher. Between the end of November 2000 to January 2001, police on Tiananmen Square in Beijing questioned her: "Is Falun Dafa good or not?" Because she answered: "Good," she was illegally detained for over 30 days and they extorted a total of nearly 10,000 Yuan [10,000 Yuan is about twice an average city person's annual income in China.]

Han Xiaochen, male, 38 years old. Police stopped him on his way to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. He was illegally detained for over three months, from the middle of December 2000 to March 2001. The details of the amount of money extorted from him are unknown.

Feng Bo, female, about 30 years old. Police stopped her on her way to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. She was illegally detained for over three months from the middle of December 2000 to March 2001. The Second Detention Center extorted 5,000 Yuan from her.

Huang Shufeng, female, over fifty years old. Police stopped her on her way to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. She was illegally detained for over two months, between the middle of December 2000 to March 2001. They extorted about 5,000 Yuan from her.

Luu Mengxin, male, 36 years old, university lecturer. For going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, he was illegally sentenced to three years in prison, having been illegally detained since mid December 2000 and was also expelled from his work place and the party membership.

Liu Yan, female, 28 years old. Police stopped her on her way to appeal for Falun Gong. She was illegally detained for three months, from mid December 2000 to March 2001. The detail of any extortion is unknown.

Li Zhong, male, in his thirties. He was arrested and detained twice for going to Beijing appealing for Falun Gong, from December 1999 to April 2000, and from December 2000 until today. The first time he was illegally sent to the Qianjin Labor Camp for one year. The second time he was illegally sent to the Changlinzi Labor Camp for one year, and is currently still being detained there. In the Changlinzi Labor Camp, he was once forced to stand up continuously without sleep for over 10 days. The details of any money that was extorted from him is currently unknown.

[Note: For all Dafa practitioners who are illegally detained, (1) they have to pay a release bond for one year when being released; it is a "guarentee" which will supposedly be returned as long as the practitioner will not go to appeal in Beijing within a year. (2) In most cases their family members pay the money. Normally, family members are reluctant to disclose the details of extortion for fear of more persecution or reprisals by the authorities.]

Jiang Huiyun, female, 62 years old. In 2001, the authorities ransacked her home, looted Master's pictures, stole and confiscated exercise music tapes and other Dafa materials. She was illegally detained for 15 days. In January 2001, local police station officer Zhang Liansheng extorted 6,336 Yuan from her.

Li Xing, male, 28 years old. In June 2000, when studying the Fa at home, Li and four other family members were reported by evil people and subsequently arrested. Mr. Li was illegally detained for 35 days at Dongli District's Police Department Detention Center. In October 2000, he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was arrested at Tiananmen Square. He was detained in Pinggu County for three days, where he suffered inhuman torture such as brutal beating by the police, having his skin burned by cigarette butts, and other physical and mental abuse. After being transferred back to Harbin City, he was illegally detained at the Dongli Police Department Detention Center for 81 days. On May 16, 2001, seven or eight police officers forcibly kidnapped him from his home. After been illegally detained for two months in the detention center, he was illegally sentenced to forced labor for two years and sent to the Changlinzi Labor Camp where he remains until now. In July 2000, Zhang Guofang of the Dongli district police department extorted 2,000 Yuan from him. In December 2000, Zhou Chunjie of the Dongli district police department extorted another 2,000 Yuan from him.

Liu Fengyun, female, 58 years old. She went to Beijing to appeal in October 2000 and was illegally arrested. After being detained in Beijing for three days, she was transferred to Harbin City's No. 2 Detention Center and detained there for twenty days. She suffered inhuman abuse during that period. After returning home, she has been illegally monitored. Yang Shouyi and Zhou Chunjie from Political Section of Dongli District Police Department extorted 5,000 Yuan from her.

Huang Shuying, female. She was extorted 5,000 Yuan by lawless people when being illegally detained at the No. 2 Detention Center for ten days.

An Ying, male, 30 years old. Yang Shouyi from the Dongli District Police Department extorted 14,000 Yuan from him. The prison doctor (name unknown) at Beijing's Chaoyang Detention Center intentionally tortured him while he force-fed An Ying.

Wang Shuqing, female, 56 years old. On April 16, 2000, some people from the Harbin Grain and Wine Factory extorted 7,516 Yuan from her, and Bao Ying from Dongli District Anle police station extorted another 200 Yuan from her. On May 23, 2000, Zhang Guofang from the Dongli Police Department extorted 5,000 Yuan from her. On May 25, the detention center charged her 246 Yuan for her meals and another 10 Yuan to force her to purchase reading materials. Her family members were extorted in the amount of 986 Yuan when dealing with her case. Her employer deprived her of a half-year's salary in the amount of 2,520 Yuan (420x6). In total she was extorted for 16,488 Yuan. During the persecution she has been denied all basic rights and is not allowed to go outside. Especially during the period of the 2001 Chinese New Year, she was guarded and was subject to phone harassment three to four times a day.

Zhang Baozhen, female, 62 years old. On January 3, 2001, her home was ransacked; Master's pictures and Dafa materials were taken away. Zhang Lianshen and Guo from the police station extorted 6,336 Yuan from her.

Wang Xiuying, female, 60 years old. She was arrested in December 2000 for going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. A few days later she was escorted back to Harbin City. Personnel from the Wenzhen police station sent her to the No. 2 Detention Center of Harbin City where she was illegally detained for four months and suffered inhuman abuse there. Feng Zhenjun from the Wenzhen police station extorted 3,000 Yuan from her as a condition for her release.

Zhang Ling, female, 31 years old. In the beginning of October 2000 she went to Beijing to appeal and was arrested on Tiananmen Square without any valid reason, simply because she is a Falun Gong practitioner. A few days later she was escorted back to Harbin City and forced to pay "traveling" expenses of 400 Yuan to the authorities. Dongli Police Department officers sent her directly to a detention center where she was held for 20 days. She suffered inhuman abuse in the detention center. Yang Shouyi, the leader of political and security section at Dongli Police Department extorted 5,000 Yuan from her as a condition for her release.

Hao Peijie, female, 49 years old. She went to Beijing in July 2000 to appeal to the government and tell the truth of Falun Dafa, which offers salvation to all sentient beings. She was arrested and escorted back to Harbin City, was sent to Harbin City's No. 2 Detention Center by people from the Wenzhen police station, and was illegally detained at that center for 21 days. She suffered inhuman abuse. An officer named Zhou from the Dongli Police Department extorted 5,000 Yuan from her.

Wang Xingyu, male, 46 years old. In December 2000, he was arrested for going to Beijing to appeal. The police station authorities sent someone to pick him up. They extorted 2,800 Yuan from him for the round trip "travel" expenses. Zhang Fucheng from Dongli Police Department extorted 2,000 Yuan from him. Guan Xin extorted 2,000 Yuan from him, too. Later, they demanded another payment, a "bail" of 2,500 Yuan.

Bi Zhihai, male, 25 years old. From the end of October to November 23rd 1999, he was illegally detained for 23 days in the Dongli Police Department detention center. Yang Shouyi, the leader of the Political and Security Section at the Dongli District Police Department extorted 5,000 Yuan from him. In August 2000, he was arrested and illegally detained for 34 days by personnel from the Dongli Police Department detention center, and was extorted another 5,000 Yuan by Yang Shouyi. From December 23, 2000 to February 19, 2001, Dongli Police Department authorities again illegally detained him for two months. Between February 20 and July 13, 2001, he was illegally detained yet another time at the Changlinzi Labor Camp for five months. At this camp he was forced to stand from morning until midnight, and he was once confined in a solitary compartment for over half a month. Forced-feeding caused him to contract a very serious lung infection.

Kai Hong, female, 52 years old. On November 2 1999, she was illegally detained for 21 days at the Harbin City No. 2 Detention Center, where the prison guards slapped her face repeatedly. 20,000 Yuan was extorted from her (out of which 5,000 Yuan was by Yang Shouyi from the Dongli Police Department). On July 22, 2000, she was force-fed twice at the No. 2 Detention Center, and fined 5,000 Yuan. Later, she had another 30,000 Yuan extorted from her. On January 21, 2001, she was illegally detained by Daowai Hangyun Detention Center. On April 2, she was sent to the Wanjia Labor Camp for two years of forced labor. The prison guard physically and verbally abused her. The persecution caused her to develop serious illnesses, such as heart pain and high blood pressure. She was released after being fined for another 40,000 Yuan. In total, she was extorted more than 95,000 Yuan [Note: this represents an enormous sum of money for an average person in China equaling many years income]

Wang Guiqing, female, 50 years old. From December 1999 to May 2001 she was illegally sent to forced labor for one year.

Xiao Yan, female, 26 years old. From December 1999 to February 2000, she was illegally detained for two months, and fined 5,000 Yuan.

Yan Tingyu, female, 25 years old. From December 2000 to April 2001, she was illegally sent to forced labor for four months and fined 5,000 Yuan.

Wang Ruoli, female, 45 years old. On December 3, 2000, she was arrested for going to Beijing to appeal and for unfurling a Dafa banner. On December 10, 2000 she was sent to the Yaziquan Labor Camp. She was fined 5,000 Yuan by Dongli Police Department officer Zhang Guofang, and forced to purchase materials for 10 Yuan. Later, she was extorted another 15,100 Yuan due to a variety of excuses given by the authorities. She was extorted of a total amount of 20,100 Yuan.

Wang Xiuying, female, 51 years old. She was arrested on December 5, 2000 for going to Beijing to appeal. She was illegally detained for 99 days at Harbin City's No. 2 Detention Center. In February 2001 she was extorted 5,280 Yuan by Yang Baoling from Chaoyang Town Political and Law Committee of Dongli District. She suffered serious damage, both physically and mentally, during her unlawful detention period.

Yao Bailing, female, 48 years old. On December 21, 2000 she went to Beijing to rectify the Fa. After being arrested, she was illegally detained for 15 days at the Shijingshan Detention Center in Beijing. She was brutally beaten many times during the interrogations. Later, after she had been escorted back by the security section of her company, she was again illegally detained for 20 days. She was extorted 4,000 Yuan. In addition, her company forced her to pay a "pledge fee" of 5,000 additionalYuan.

Gong Xiulian, female. On December 31, 2000 she was stopped and brought back on her way to Beijing to appeal. She was illegally sentenced to forced labor, and hasn't been released since then.
