Reflections on the Latest Notice from the Minghui Editorial Board Regarding Sending Forth Righteous Thoughts

(Minghui.org) After reading the article “Don’t Be Misled–Follow the Teachings of Falun Dafa and Send Righteous Thoughts for the Lawsuits Concerning Our Community” published by the Minghui Editorial Board, I realized that this was a notification for us as Dafa disciples to send forth righteous thoughts concerning the current aspect of persecution involving legal actions.

Master told us:

“Ordeals have been wrought upon our practice since 1999, when they began in China, and have never ceased, be it in the United States or elsewhere in the world.” (“The Ordeals Our Spiritual Discipline Faces”)

Although I am not familiar with the specific details or background of the legal proceedings, I have come to realize from the Minghui article that, during this collective sending forth righteous thoughts, we must elevate our xinxing and cultivation state to meet the standards of the Fa-rectification; only then can we truly make a difference.

Master also told us:

“I know that in fact fifteen percent of the karma still remains to be dealt with as we go about saving lives. That is what’s left after twenty-some years of working to save lives. It is a huge amount, I know. And for this reason things that spell enormous pressure for me, as well as burdens for me, will keep coming, one after another. Saving lives is difficult; it’s not as simple as it sounds.” (“The Ordeals Our Spiritual Discipline Faces”)

We know from the Fa that the old forces instigated this persecution because we have remaining karma. By exploiting our attachments, notions, and loopholes, they have been able to interfere with and sabotage our cultivation and the salvation of sentient beings. Our sending forth righteous thoughts as a whole serves to eradicate all of this at the root.

From the perspective of saving people, if we can meet the standards outlined in the Minghui article—conveying the truth with rationality and kindness—only then can we save more sentient beings while negating the old forces and overcoming the persecution.

When the persecution began in 1999, Dafa disciples were not yet mature in their cultivation. At that time, as long as we maintained righteous thoughts, we were able to do what we were supposed to do with Dafa’s support.

Today, however, having resisted the persecution for 27 years, having saved countless sentient beings while assisting Master in rectifying the Fa, and having matured through endurance and self-sacrifice, the standards the Fa requires of us have been raised.

Only by seeking to “... attain the righteous Enlightenment of selflessness and altruism.” (“Non-Omission in Buddha-Nature,” Essentials for Further Advancement), and by becoming “A being without desire, pursuit, or selfishness has transcended the human world” (“Don’t Be Misled–Follow the Teachings of Falun Dafa and Send Righteous Thoughts for the Lawsuits Concerning Our Community”) can one rise above the trivialities of everyday life, and see clearly the path one must follow from a cultivation perspective. We can then gain sufficient wisdom to balance all aspects of cultivation, break free from the arrangements of the old forces, and avoid being disturbed by various human attachments.

Master admonishes us:

“The truth is, we shouldn’t expect to not face ordeals as a spiritual discipline just because we are in a certain location; it’s just that they assume different forms. And during these ordeals, lives are being chosen to either remain or be sifted out in the end, and just as much is at stake for our Dafa practitioners.” (“The Ordeals Our Spiritual Discipline Faces”)

In my view, the tribulation itself is not the root of the problem. The root of the problem lies in whether, when there is a tribulation, we can identify its root cause within ourselves, whether we can understand the chaotic phenomena that arise during the tribulation from the perspective of the Fa, and whether we can attain the level and standard described in the Minghui article.

Any Dafa disciple who meets this standard will be able to overcome the tribulation and, in the process, assist Master in saving more sentient beings. If Dafa disciples as a whole can meet this standard, we will be able to fundamentally negate the old forces and dissolve the tribulations.

Master told us:

“The Dharma’s tribulation was a tribulation for humans and religions, rather than a tribulation for Buddhas.” (For Whom do You Practice Cultivation? Essentials for Further Advancement)

Everything unfolding today is a result of our failure to do things well and/or our failure to meet the required standards. All the tribulations have arisen because of us and stem from the human heart.

Therefore, in the face of this current tribulation targeting our community, we as Dafa disciples bear an unshirkable responsibility. We must send forth righteous thoughts to negate the persecution even as we continue to look inward, cultivate ourselves well, and diligently do the three things. This is the path we must walk at this moment.

This is my understanding at my current level. Please kindly point out anything not in line with the Fa.
