(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners in Brussels held a rally in the city center, Europakruispunt, on July 11, 2026 to mark the 27th year since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began the persecution of their practice. They put up banners and display boards to raise awareness of the persecution in China, which started on July 20, 1999.

Before the persecution began in China, the CCP estimated that about 100 million people practiced Falun Gong, a number that surpassed Chinese Communist Party members. Feeling threatened that so many people were following a practice that was not under of the control of the CCP, then-party leader Jiang Zemin launched the persecution to eliminate Falun Gong. Practitioners were arrested, detained, and even killed, and their organs were harvested for sale for transplant surgeries. As a major component of the persecution, the CCP started a propaganda campaign to slander Falun Gong—a campaign that the CCP has since extended overseas.

Worldwide, an increasing number of people have become aware of the persecution in China and are voicing condemnation of the CCP’s actions.

Organ Transplant Specialist

Vibuti Sharma from Malta watched practitioners do the exercises and read the information on the display boards. She said she’d heard about the forced organ harvesting years ago. Vibuti coordinates liver transplants but said her work only involves donors who pass away naturally. She knows that the CCP persecutes Falun Gong and said she would pass on the information to her team.

Vibuti signed the petition to end the CCP’s organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners, which is done while they are alive. She condemned the atrocity said it was inhuman and said that the CCP shouldn’t kill people for their belief.

The Persecution Is Brutal

Jack works at a university and his friend Laura is a nurse. They stopped to watch the rally and told practitioners they’d seen the documentary “Hard to Believe” about the CCP’s persecution years ago and were shocked by the brutality. When they saw a human body exhibition, they realized how serious the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong was.

They saw the documentary about four years ago when it was shown at Laura’s university. Afterward, she wrote a report about the persecution. When Jack helped her research and write the report, he learned a lot about the persecution and organ harvesting. He was impressed by the film and said that everyone who watched it was stunned. He and Laura are saddened that so few people knew about these crimes.

When they visited the real body exhibition, they were shocked again. Jack read additional information about the exhibition and learned that people couldn’t trace the sources of some of the bodies. He suspected that they were Falun Gong practitioners who were killed while their organs were harvested. Jack said that they were horrified after they saw the exhibition, which reminded them of the documentary.

Jack has recommended the documentary to his colleagues, and Laura continues to follow news of the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.

Polish Journalist Encourages Practitioners

Dominique, a journalist from Poland, saw practitioners do the exercises and signed the petition to end the persecution. She talked to a practitioner for some time and said that Poland was once governed by Communists and that it was a horrible period for Poland.

Dominique encouraged practitioners to continue raising awareness of the persecution.

Dominique was concerned that the persecution has gone on for 27 years, and encouraged practitioners to continue exposing it.

She acknowledged Falun Gong’s core values of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She said that people should think of truthfulness every day; that kindness was a basic quality people should have; and that forbearance was the key to understanding other people and the world.

Falun Gong Represents Light and Persecutors Hide in Darkness

Local resident Iike Joukes expressed her support for Falun Gong. She learned about Falun Dafa 20 years ago and had seen the practitioners gathered in the city center every year. She once learned the Falun Gong exercises at a practice site but didn’t continue practicing due to time constraints.

Iike Joukes had words of support for Falun Gong.

Iike said she read an article in a Flemish newspaper about the persecution and said that Falun Gong represented light while the persecutors hid in darkness.

She said that Falun Gong was sacred, truthful, kind and tolerant, and expressed her thanks to the practitioners before she left.

CCP’s Transnational Repression Is a Serious Problem

Silas condemned the CCP’s transnational repression.

Silas, a university student, said she wasn’t surprised by the CCP’s brutality. She knows how the Party persecutes the Uyghurs in China, and also mentioned the CCP’s transnational suppression. Silas said that Chinese people cannot escape the CCP and are still tracked by the Party even after they leave China. She said this is a serious problem.

Silas said that Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are good principles and society would benefit if everyone followed them.

Numerous Chinese students studying in Belgium, Germany and Holland talked to practitioners. They accepted flyers and copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. Practitioners explained to them the importance of withdrawing from the CCP and its affiliated organizations.
