Hungary: Rally Marks 26 Years of Peacefully Protesting the Persecution

(Minghui.org) Practitioners in Hungary held a rally on Vörösmarty Square in Budapest’s city center on Saturday, July 19, 2025, to peacefully protest the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) 26-year-long persecution of Falun Gong.

They unfolded banners in Hungarian and English, which stated, “Falun Dafa Is good,” “Stop the persecution of Falun Gong,” and “Stop forced organ harvesting.” They demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises and collected signatures on a petition calling to end the CCP’s atrocities. The event concluded with a candlelight vigil to mourn their fellow practitioners who were persecuted to death.

Eszter, spokesperson for the Hungarian Falun Dafa Association, recounted the CCP’s persecution policy, “‘Defame their reputations, bankrupt them financially, and destroy them physically.’ On July 20, 1999, Jiang Zemin, the former head of the CCP, initiated the persecution of Falun Gong with this announcement.” She said, “In a nation-wide arrest, Falun Gong practitioners were forcibly dragged out of their homes that night. The operation was followed by torture and killings in Chinese labor camps, prisons and psychiatric institutions. This torture and genocide has continued ever since.”

Eszter also exposed the CCP’s crime of killing Falun Gong practitioners for profit in transplant surgeries and covering up the atrocities. She pointed out that the CCP regime tries to extend its repressive campaign to Western countries in recent years.

A couple from India stopped to ask about the practice, because they really liked the exercises that practitioners were doing. After hearing facts of the persecution in China, the man said, “It’s horrifying that the organ is delivered on a prearranged schedule, and that someone surely dies for it!” They wished the practitioners good luck in their efforts.

Zoltán from Érd stopped to learn more about the practice. He told practitioners, “You have a really kind and pleasant aura. Keep up the good work!” Zoltán was also appalled to learn that the organ-harvesting crime was state-sanctioned and organized. He signed the petition to condemn the persecution.

Elena said she hopes the persecution ends soon.

Elena from Istanbul praised practitioners for how peaceful and calm they were. Tears came to her eyes when she heard about the CCP’s brutalities against Falun Gong practitioners. She said, “I will pray for an end to this evil persecution!”
