Additional Persecution News from China – April 25, 2025 (7 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 6 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 16 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Yinzhong and Wife Ms. Jiao Yujuan Taken to Prison
2. [Tianjin] Practitioner Tao Yushuang Arrested

4. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Jinfang Arrested

7. [Kaifeng City, Henan Province] Ms. Yang Guizhi Under Residential Surveillance

1. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Yinzhong and His Wife Ms. Jiao Yujuan Taken to Prison

Mr. Zhang Yinzhong and his wife Ms. Jiao Yujuan from Lanshan District were arrested in April 2024 and sentenced to prison on November 5, 2024. Mr. Zhang was sentenced to four years and Ms. Jiao received three and a half years. The intermediate court upheld their original verdicts without holding a hearing.

Mr. Zhang and Ms. Jiao were taken to Shandong Province Prison and Shandong Province Women’s Prison, respectively, in late March 2025.

2. [Tianjin] Practitioner Tao Yushuang Arrested

Practitioner Tao Yushuang was arrested on April 23, 2025 by officers of Yucai Road Police Station, after being reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong. Tao’s home was also ransacked.

3. [Tianjin] Ms. Song Huichan Arrested

Ms. Song Huichan from Tanggu District, Binhai New Area was arrested by officers from the Xincun Police Station on the morning of April 11, 2025. That night, the officers went to the home of Ms. Song’s 90-year-old mother and ransacked her place. They confiscated dozens of Falun Gong books. Then they went to Ms. Song’s home and confiscated a Falun Gong book and some amulets.

Ms. Song was put on criminal detention on April 12. Her arrest was approved on April 17. She is now facing indictment after the police submitted her case to the Procuratorate.

4. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Jinfang Arrested

Ms. Li Jinfang was arrested on the morning of April 23, 2025 while talking to people about Falun Gong in Liu Village, Xushui District. She was taken to Xushui District Lockup and was released at 11 p.m. that night.

5. [Daqing City, Hebei Province] Nine Practitioners Arrested

Nine practitioners were arrested by officers from Sartu District Police Department on April 9, 2025. The police revealed that they had been monitoring the practitioners for a long time before arresting them.

Ms. Yu Chunyan, 63, had her computer, printer and other belongings were confiscated. She remains in custody. Ms. Dong Min, in her 60s, and Ms. Zhang Baorong, in her 80s, experienced medical episodes during their arrests and were taken to the hospital. They were later released on bail. Ms. Shi Li, about 50, and two other practitioners in their 60s have also been released. The situation of the remaining three practitioners are unclear.

6. [Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Lisha Harassed

Ms. Wang Lisha was harassed at home on April 16, 2025 by Zhao Zhou, director of the No. 857 Farm Police Station, Qin Zhaojun, the 610 Office director and a residential officer. They ordered her to sign a document, which she refused to do. Her husband, who does not practice Falun Gong, was frightened and signed the document on her behalf.

7. [Kaifeng City, Henan Province] Ms. Yang Guizhi Under Residential Surveillance

Ms. Yang Guizhi was arrested at the end of 2024 and held in a local detention center for an unknown amount of time. She was placed under residential surveillance after being released.
