My Recent Experiences While Talking to the Local Police

(Minghui.org) I was contacted by the local police station for a talk. They said it was part of a “routine check.” Before I went there I sent forth righteous thoughts at home for 15 minutes. With a calm mind, I then proceeded to the police station. When I arrived, I was greeted by the officer who called me. He led me upstairs to a room full of police officers who were sitting at their desks with their computers.

The officer who spoke with me was a young community officer for my residential area. He opened his computer after we sat down, and I thought he planned to record our conversation. I said to myself, “If he’s recording, it would be good for his superiors to hear what I had to say.” He started by politely greeting me. Then asked, “You’ve haven’t practiced for a long time, correct?” I responded, “Are you referring to Falun Dafa?” He said yes. I said, “How could I stop practicing? If I don’t practice it, how will I maintain my health?”

I continued, “Since you brought up Falun Dafa, let me ask you, do you know what Falun Dafa is?” He said, “No, we just following instructions.” I said, “Let me explain it to you. The Chinese Constitution guarantees freedom of belief. Anyone who tries to prevent people from practicing Falun Dafa is violating the Constitution and committing a crime by infringing on religious freedom.” At this point, a young officer sitting across the room interrupted, “We don’t recognize Falun Dafa.” I calmly replied, “Whether you recognize it or not is your personal choice.” In my mind, I said, “Be quiet.” After that, he didn’t say another word.

I continued, “The moral baseline of today’s society has severely declined. Falun Dafa is here to save people, and it guides people to be good by following the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. Practitioners benefit society in countless ways. From 1992 to 1994, Falun Dafa’s Master introduced the teachings throughout China. In 1995, he began to teach overseas and Dafa has since reached over 100 countries worldwide. Only in China is it persecuted. The persecution was initiated by former Chinese Communist Party (CCP) leader Jiang Zemin out of jealousy. In 2001, the CCP staged the Self-Immolation Incident on Tiananmen Square to incite public hatred against Falun Dafa. Do you know about that incident?” He said no. I explained, “The self-immolation was a complete fabrication. The people involved weren’t practitioners. There were lots of loopholes in the fabrication. For example, the young girl Liu Siying, who supposedly had a tracheotomy, could still sing and talk, which defied basic medical common sense. You should be aware of these facts.”

He listened quietly as I explained and seemed to take in everything I said. When our discussion ended, he escorted me downstairs and said, “Let me take a photo of you before you leave.” I immediately responded, “My child, do you mind if I call you that?” He replied, “I don’t mind. I’m your grandchildren’s generation.” I continued, “You must not take my photo. If I let you take it, it will harm you.” He agreed and said, “If you don’t want a photo taken, I won’t take one.” He then politely sent me out of the building.

I felt that throughout the entire process, I maintained a calm mind, and I blended compassion with dignity in my words. As I walked out of the police station and headed home, I felt an extraordinary sense of clarity and lightness, and I was very happy.

The following morning, the local community office also contacted me and asked me to come in and have a talk with the community secretary. Before heading over, I again spent some time sending forth righteous thoughts at home. In our conversation, the secretary also asked me, “You haven’t practiced Falun Dafa for a long time, right?” I gave the same response: “How could I stop? If I don’t practice it, how will I stay healthy?” He then said, “Let me be direct. The Political and Legal Committee gave us a list of documents for you to sign, including a statement of renunciation and repentance. There are several forms, and they asked you to sign them.” I firmly said, “I absolutely won’t sign them. Our Master told us that Falun Dafa practitioners are here to save people. If I sign those documents, I would be harming you.”

He said, “If you won’t sign, then you won’t sign. We’ll just stamp the forms and submit them.” He handed the documents to another staff member, who took them away. I told him, “I used to be very ill, but I got healthy through practicing Falun Dafa without spending a penny. I’ll be grateful to Falun Dafa for the rest of my life, and all practitioners feel this way.” He said, “That’s incredible!” He then muttered to himself, “We’ve found the person and had the talk.” I added, “And you’ve completed your task.” With that, our conversation came to an end.

As Dafa disciples, when we have the right mindset and are focused on saving people, regardless of the other party’s intentions, they will be rectified.
