(Minghui.org) At least 11 Falun Gong practitioners in Mengyin County, Shandong Province, were arrested on November 20, 2025.
The incident came only three months after another group arrests of over ten practitioners in Mengyin. Both operations were ordered by the Shandong Provincial Public Security Bureau. The police monitored the practitioners for months before the arrests.
11 Arrested
Mr. Wei Changbao, his wife, and son were first taken to the Mengyin County Police Department. Mr. Wei was later transferred to the Mengyin County Detention Center, together with Mr. Ji Yongqiang. Mr. Wei’s wife was admitted to the Linyi City Detention Center, together with Ms. Wang Yonglan. It is unclear where Mr. Wei’s son is currently held.
Ms. Kan Shimei was seized at work and taken to the Mengyin County Police Department. Her two cell phones and car were confiscated. She was taken to the Linyi City Detention Center the next day and denied admission due to a medical condition. She has been released on bail.
Ms. Kan’s father, Mr. Kan Zhaotai, and mother, Ms. Tian Lieyun, and three female practitioners (one with an unknown name and the other two surnamed Ju and Zhou, respectively) were also arrested on the same day and are now held at some unknown locations.
One Harassed
More than 20 plainclothes officers broke into Ms. Lyu Xia’s mother’s home around 8 a.m. on November 20 and ransacked the place. As Ms. Lyu was bedridden and relied on her mother for care, the police didn’t arrest her, but stayed at her mother’s home until the afternoon.
