Mr. Feng Zhongxian, of Nanyang City, Henan Province, passed away in November 2019, after enduring years of persecution for practicing Falun Gong.

Mr. Feng went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong in December 1999. He was arrested and detained for over two months and fined several thousand yuan.

Mr. Feng returned to Beijing in October 2000 to appeal again. As he refused to reveal his name to the Beijing police and started a hunger strike to protest, the police released him. He stayed in Beijing to find ways to raise awareness about the persecution, only to be arrested in July 2001.

Mr. Feng was arrested again on August 30, 2019. He was handcuffed overnight at the police station but was released the next day due to his poor health. He died three months after returning home. He was 70.
