Ms. Wang Guiying, of Baoding City, Hebei Province, passed away on August 28, 2015, after enduring years of persecution for practicing Falun Gong. She was 58.

After the onset of the persecution in 1999, Ms. Wang was repeatedly arrested, detained and tortured. She almost died in custody and was forced to live away from home to hide from the police after she was released. For fear of being implicated, her husband divorced her.

Over ten officers broke into Ms. Wang’s home on the morning of February 25, 2012. Her two computers, printers, Falun Gong books, cash, bank cards, cell phone, jewelry, and ID were confiscated.

While being held at the Baoding City Detention Center, Ms. Wang was unable to eat or fall asleep. She kept vomiting blood and was reduced to skin and bones. When her family went to the police station to inquire about her situation, the police didn’t tell them about her condition, but threatened to sentence her to prison.

The detention center released Ms. Wang six months later to avoid her dying in custody.

She never recovered and passed away on August 28, 2015.
