(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 14 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Li Sentenced to Four Years in Prison
2. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Tong Mingyu on Hunger Strike
3. [Chizhou City, Anhui Province] Cheng Xiurong and Mr. Liu Hongming Held in Custody
4. [Yueyang City, Hunan Province] Mr. Luo Shaoan and Ms. Guo Shujie Arrested
5. [Shanghai] Ms. Rong Meiying Arrested
6. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Guo Qingfen Arrested
7. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Jiang Lili Held in Brainwashing Center
8. [Beijing] Ms. Xu Na’s Whereabouts Still Unknown
9. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Four Practitioners Arrested
1. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Li Sentenced to Four Years in Prison
Ms. Wang Li from Zhifu District was arrested on May 9, 2024. She was sentenced to four years in prison and fined 20,000 yuan on December 20, 2024.
2. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Tong Mingyu on Hunger Strike
Mr. Tong Mingyu from Shuangcheng District was arrested on the morning of November 20, 2024. He is being held in the Daoli District Detention Center. He is currently on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. The police also took away his mother’s cell phone and refused to return it.
3. [Chizhou City, Anhui Province] Cheng Xiurong and Mr. Liu Hongming Held in Custody
Cheng Xiurong and Mr. Liu Hongming were arrested and had their homes ransacked by officers from the Chizhou City Domestic Security Division on December 27, 2024, for posting Falun Gong informational materials. They are being held in the Chizhou City Detention Center.
4. [Yueyang City, Hunan Province] Mr. Luo Shaoan and Ms. Guo Shujie Arrested
Mr. Luo Shaoan from Luowang Community was arrested by officers from the Yueyanglou District Domestic Security Division. Likely due to health reasons, he has been held in Guangji Hospital. On the afternoon of December 31, 2024, five people from the Yueyanglou District Procuratorate interrogated him at the hospital.
Ms. Guo Shujie from Changling Community was reported to the police for distributing Falun Gong informational desk calendars. She was arrested in late December 2024, and is currently held in the Yueyang City Detention Center.
5. [Shanghai] Ms. Rong Meiying Arrested
Ms. Rong Meiying from Pudong New Area was reported to the police while talking to people about Falun Gong on the subway on December 31, 2024. She was arrested by the subway police and released on the early morning of January 1, 2025.
6. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Guo Qingfen Arrested
Ms. Guo Qingfen took a train on December 28, 2024, to her daughter’s home to spend the new year holidays. She was arrested at the Jilin City Railway Station and taken to the Jishu Police Station. The police attempted to detain her at the Jilin City Detention Center, but failed. She was released shortly after.
7. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Jiang Lili Held in Brainwashing Center
Ms. Jiang Lili, 77, from Changlun Community, Wuchang District, was arrested by Hualou Street Police Station officers on the afternoon of August 21, 2024. That night, agents from the Wuchang District 610 Office and the Xujiapeng Sub-district Administration Office took Ms. Jiang from the police station to the Baishazhou Brainwashing Center. Over the next four months, her family frequented the Xujiapeng Sub-district Administration Office to request her release, without success.
8. [Beijing] Ms. Xu Na’s Whereabouts Still Unknown
Ms. Xu Na was taken to Team 10 of Division 3 in Beijing Women’s Prison at the end of September 2023. She was held there for nearly two months. At the end of November, a police officer suddenly called her out and she has never returned.
9. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Four Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Xiong was arrested at Xiaotun Farmers Market by officers from the Gaogezhuang Police Station on December 29, 2024. She was released that afternoon due to high blood pressure.
Ms. Zheng was arrested at Xiaochenzhuang Farmers Market and her whereabouts are unknown.
On December 30, 2024, Ms. Jia Chunqin and Ms. Yao Xiurong were arrested by officers from the Qishuzhuang Police Station at Yaerlin Farmers Market in Qishuzhuang Town and released that afternoon. The police harassed them at home and raided their places the following afternoon.
