(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 6 cities or counties in 3 provinces, where at least 12 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Julu County, Hebei Province] Mr. Lu Gang Sentenced to Five Years in Prison
2. [Changtu County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Sun Wanliang Sentenced to Two and a Half Years in Prison
3. [Xingtai City, Hebei Province] Ms. Hu Hui Facing Trial
4. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Xiujie Arrested
5. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Qiuzhen and Ms. Wang Cuiyan Harassed
6. [Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province] Three Practitioners Arrested and Three More Harassed
1. [Julu County, Hebei Province] Mr. Lu Gang Sentenced to Five Years in Prison
Mr. Lu Gang was arrested at home by officers from the Yantuan Town Police Station and Julu County Domestic Security Division on July 20, 2023. His father received a call from the Yantuan Town Police Station on June 4, 2024, informing him that Mr. Lu had been sentenced to five years in prison and that he had been transferred from the Julu County Detention Center to the Jidong Prison in Tangshan City. His family were kept in the dark of his indictment, trial and sentencing. There are nine branches of the Jidong Prison, and his family didn’t know which branch he was detained at either.
Mr. Lu called his family on July 28, 2024. He said that the police carried him to the police car and took him to the prison. He had refused to renounce Falun Gong and the guards didn’t allow him to contact his family until then. His family is now appealing his sentence on his behalf.
2. [Changtu County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Sun Wanliang Sentenced to Two and a Half Years in Prison
Mr. Sun Wanliang was sentenced to two and a half years. He was taken to the Shenyang Prison at the end of August 2024 after the appeals court ruled to uphold his original verdict.
3. [Xingtai City, Hebei Province] Ms. Hu Hui Facing Trial
Ms. Hu Hui’s family was informed by the Ningjin County Court on September 6, 2024 that she was scheduled to appear in court at 10 a.m. on September 12.
4. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Xiujie Arrested
Ms. Wang Xiujie, who lives in Tiexi District, was arrested at home by officers from Huanggu District around 5 p.m. on September 6, 2024. Her home was ransacked and her Falun Gong books were confiscated.
5. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Qiuzhen and Ms. Wang Cuiyan Harassed
Ms. Liu Qiuzhen and Ms. Wang Cuiyan live in Liutuo Village, Zhonghanzhuang Town, Wangdu County. They were recorded by surveillance cameras when putting up posters about Falun Gong in the village. The police ordered the two women to report to them on September 5, 2024. They refused to comply.
6. [Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province] Three Practitioners Arrested and Three More Harassed
Ms. An Caifeng and Ms. Ma Lingling were arrested by officers from Xixian New District on September 5, 2024. Their homes were ransacked. The practitioners were taken to Sanyao Village in Xi’an City. A practitioner with the last name Li, from Sanyuan, was arrested at around the same time.
Mr. Yuan Haisheng and his wife were harassed at home by police on September 4 or 5, 2024. Their home was ransacked. Several other practitioners, including Gao Guirong, were also harassed.
