(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 12 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Huang Guiqin and Others Arrested and Detained
5. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Zhou Chengrong Detained
6. [Haicheng City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Bai Xuesong Harassed Six Days After Prison Release
7. [Tianjin] Ms. Ran Guanquan Sentenced
8. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Xudong Died Days After Detention Center Release
1. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Cong Detained
Ms. Liu Cong of Xishanpo area in Longgang District was arrested around 5 a.m. on July 12, 2024. She is being held in the Huludao Detention Center.
2. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Wang Xiaohui Detained
Wang Xiaohui, around 64 and gender unknown, was arrested near Xinglongshan Post Office on the afternoon of May 17, 2024. Wang is being held in the Weizigou Detention Center.
3. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Qiao Chuanjie Detained
Mr. Qiao Chuanjie of Wuchang District was arrested by officers from Wuchang District’s Meiyuan Police Station, Jianghan District Domestic Security Division, and Jianghan District’s Xinhua Police Station on July 18, 2024. He was given 10 days in the Jianghan District Lockup.
4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Huang Guiqin and Others Arrested and Detained
Ms. Mu, 70, first name unknown, lived in Qinghuayuan area in Fufeng Town, Chaoyang District. She was arrested by Erdao District Police Department officers between the end of April and early May 2024. Her home was ransacked. She is being held in a detention center.
Ms. Huang Guiqin was arrested by officers from a police station in Changchun Automobile Industrial Development Zone on July 17, 2024. The officers ransacked her home, seized her Falun Gong books, a picture of the founder of Falun Gong and other items. She was given 15 days of detention.
Ms. Hou Guixiang and Ms. Jing Fengmei of Changchun Automobile Industrial Development Zone were arrested by Anqing Road Police Station officers on the afternoon of July 18, 2024. Ms. Hou’s home was ransacked. Her computer, player, flash-drives, cellphone, and two SIM cards were confiscated. The Weizigou Detention Center refused to admit her because she failed the physical exam, and she was thus released. Ms. Jing was detained for five days and released.
Ms. Xu Guirong, 76, was arrested by Xixin Police Station officers and released in the evening. Her computer and other items were confiscated.
5. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Zhou Chengrong Detained
Ms. Zhou Chengrong of Guancheng District was arrested and detained for 15 days in May 2024, after someone reported that she distributed Falun Gong flyers. The police continued to harass her over the phone after her release.
6. [Haicheng City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Bai Xuesong Harassed Six Days After Prison Release
On July 25, 2024, only six days after Mr. Bai Xuesong was released from serving a 3.5-year prison term, five officers from the Beiguan Police Station went to his home to harass him. They took pictures of him and his family. The family stopped the police and demanded that they delete the pictures. The police tried to obtain Ms. Bai’s fingerprints, signature, and facial recognition data. He refused to comply.
7. [Tianjin] Ms. Ran Guanquan Sentenced
Ms. Ran Guanquan of Tanggu District, 75, was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison and fined 8,000 yuan by the Binhai District Court in April 2024.
Two police officers went to her home on July 11, 2024 and questioned her husband, Mr. Wang Changshou, as to whether Ms. Ran was still practicing Falun Gong.
8. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Xudong Died Days After Detention Center Release
Mr. Liu Xudong of Tiexi District, was around 50 when he went to Beijing to appeal for his right to practice Falun Gong in July 1999. He was arrested, sent back to Shenyang and put into Sujiatun Detention Center, where he was cruelly abused. Mr. Liu died several days after he was released.
