(Minghui.org) From August 16–18, 2024, Falun Dafa practitioners held a series of activities in three Romanian cities – Timisoara, Brasov and Mamaia, to introduce Dafa and raise awareness of the persecution in China. People from all walks of life learned about the persecution of Falun Dafa by the Chinese government, and many expressed support for practitioners’ efforts to end the atrocities, including the regime's forced organ harvesting of prisoners of conscience.

Falun Dafa practitioners participated in a cultural celebration of the City of Timisoara from August 16–18, 2024.

Practitioners introduced Falun Dafa to people in the resort town of Mamaia on August 18.

Practitioners set up information booths in all three cities, and many people stopped to talk and learn about Falun Dafa. Many people signed a petition started by Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting (DAFOH) to the G7+7 nations, urging them to take action to stop the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Dafa. Two other petitions aimed at stopping the persecution in China were also available, and many people signed those as well.

Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance Is the Foundation for All of Humanity’s Righteous Belief

Robert Robescu, 51, a rescue diver, told practitioners he read an article about the persecution two years ago. When he asked a coworker about it, the latter confirmed Falun Dafa has been suppressed by the CCP for a long time. Robert spoke to practitioners in Mamaia and sympathized with them. “Perhaps thousands of practitioners have disappeared,” he said. He thinks practitioners should share Falun Dafa’s values with the Chinese population. “This is important in restoring moral values in Chinese society, which have been damaged by the CCP,” Robert affirmed.

Robert said Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance are the foundation of all righteous belief throughout humanity.

“I think [practitioners in China] should promote [Dafa],” Robert said. “[Falun Dafa] asks you to help others and keep a balance. Balance is most essential, and compassion and love helps."

He also encouraged practitioners to persevere in their faith, noting similarities between Falun Dafa’s teachings and those of Western religions. “Everyone should keep on doing this. When you have a path which you have traveled a third of the way, you should not turn back. We go forward, because after all, we share the same Creator except we call him differently,” he said.
Robert signed the petition to the G7+7.

Romina Hagiu, who learned of Falun Dafa during the activities in Brasov on August 17, said, “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance brings me peace. These are principles people should follow in everyday life.”

Romina Hagiu from Galati signed the petition at the information booth in Brasov. She hopes to help practitioners who are persecuted in China. “We can save a life through a signature,” she said. “This is a small gesture for a very important action. This persecution seems totally unfair, because we as humans have the right to live, and actions such as [organ harvesting] take the lives of innocent people. It should be condemned and stopped immediately.”

Marian expressed support for Falun Dafa at the cultural festival held in the City of Timisoara from August 15–18.

Many Sign the Petition to Call for an End to the Atrocities

Florian Earamazu, from Buftea, said he’s paid close attention over the years to media reports on protests by groups persecuted by the CCP, including Falun Dafa. He sees qigong as a form of relaxation and therefore beneficial for health. He feels that Falun Dafa practitioners are persecuted “because their moral values are different from the CCP.”

Florian Earamazu signed the petition in Brasov to call for an end to the atrocities.

Florian lived for many years under communist rule in Romania and said, “The same thing is happening, except that in China, the CCP created a bright facade, and built many high rise buildings. Yet China remains a closed country with only one television channel, one press. Things that happen there—like more than 10 million people are politically imprisoned, they work as slaves in factories, women are mistreated and so on, are covered up.”

He also said the practice of forced organ harvesting should be stopped. “People [who go to China for organ transplants] will realize they are participating in a crime if they hear about the persecution in China.”

Florian signed the petition and said he wanted to tell practitioners in China, “Don’t lose hope. Many people are on your side.”

Enia, in her 20s, has volunteered to travel to Angola to help at-risk children. She stopped at the Falun Dafa booth in Timisoara with two little girls who have Down’s Syndrome, whom she cares for in Romania. They were attracted to the origami lotus flowers practitioners handed out, and wanted to learn how to make them.

When she learned about Falun Dafa and the persecution, Enia said, “We young people should be more proactive because everything we do is for our future. This persecution is similar to what the Christians went through. It’s horrible. We can change what is happening around us.”

Antonia Daniela signed the petition during the event in Brasov.

Antonia Daniela Davidescu spoke to practitioners during the event in Brasov. After learning about Falun Dafa, she said she agreed with its moral teachings.

“Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance are values that need more attention today. We young people are the future and we should make an effort to change, and pass these principles to future generations,” she said.

Antonia signed the three petitions to end the persecution in China. “Can we say ‘Free China!’ Let’s free the Chinese people from communist ideology and suffering,” she said. Her friend Sara signed the petition as well. Both young women said they wished to encourage practitioners in China.
