(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 13 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

6. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Mr. Jiang Yunnan Tried
7. [Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xu and Her Daughter Arrested
8. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Qinghua Faces Trial
9. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Three Practitioners Detained

1. [Ji’nan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Qi Yingjun in Serious Condition
Mr. Qi Yingjun, 64, has been on a hunger strike since he was admitted to the Ji’nan Prison on December 20, 2023, to serve a four-year term. When his wife and son visited him in the Ji’nan Prison Hospital in July 2024, they were devastated to see that he was emaciated and unable to stand on his own. He struggled to talk to them during the short visit. His wife is extremely worried about his life.
2. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhao Yungu Tried at Home
The Yilan County Court scheduled a hearing of Mr. Zhao Yungu at his home at 1 p.m. on August 16, 2024. Details about the hearing aren’t available at the time of writing.
3. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Yang Xingli Sentenced
Yang Xingli, gender unknown, was arrested by Zhanqian Police Station officers in July 2023 and later sentenced to three-and-a-half-year in prison. Yang appealed, but it’s not clear whether the appeals court had issued a decision. Yang’s family was kept in the dark regarding his or her case status.
4. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Jin Xiaofeng Faces Indictment
Mr. Jin Xiaofeng of Dadong District was arrested by Shenhe Police Department officers on July 13, 2024. He is held in the Fangjialan Detention Center. His case has been submitted to the Dadong District Procuratorate.
5. [Laishui County, Hebei Province] Ms. Lu Guifen Abused While Serving a 5-Year Term
Ms. Lu Guifen was released from Hebei Province Women’s Prison on August 4, 2024, after serving a 5-year term. Due to the abuses in the prison, her hair had turned completely gray and all of her teeth were gone.
6. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Mr. Jiang Yunnan Tried
Mr. Jiang Yunnan was scheduled to appear in the Wuhua District Court on August 16, 2024. Only two people were allowed to attend the session. Other details about his hearing aren’t clear.
7. [Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xu and Her Daughter Arrested
Ms. Xu, first name unknown, of Fanjiatun Town, and her daughter, name unknown, were arrested on August 7, 2024. The officers came in three police cars. They ransacked their home and seized several boxes of personal items. It’s not clear where they are detained.
8. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Qinghua Faces Trial
Mr. Wang Qinghua of Changli County was notified by Funing District Court on August 13, 2024, that a hearing of his case had been scheduled for August 20, 2024, at 3 p.m.
9. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Three Practitioners Detained
Ms. Li Minfen was arrested at home by director Gong Dexing and other officers from Aohan Banner’s Beizifu Town Police Station on the morning of June 18, 2024. They seized more than ten Falun Gong books, a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, and a couplet on her door. She was detained for seven days.
The officers next went to Ms. Zhao Yarong’s home in the same village, seizing her Falun Gong books and a picture of the founder of Falun Gong. She was detained for five days.
Ms. Li Fenghua of the same village was arrested at home on July 1, 2024. Her Falun Gong books and a picture of the founder of Falun Gong were also confiscated. She was detained for five days.
10. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Zhong Pengfei Detained
Mr. Zhong Pengfei, 47, booked a taxi ride on line on July 10, 2024. He talked to the driver about Falun Gong on the ride. The driver drove him directly to the Longgang District’s Longxin Police Station. He is being held in the Longgang Detention Center.
