(Minghui.org) To mark the 25th anniversary of their efforts to end the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution, local practitioners held a rally in front of the parliament building of Poland on July 23, 2024. They called on members of Parliament (MPs) and the public to learn about Falun Gong (Falun Dafa) and the CCP’s persecution, get to know the true nature of the CCP, and work together to stop the CCP’s persecution and forced organ harvesting.

Practitioners did the exercises in front of the parliament building, distributed flyers, clarified the truth, and collected signatures on a petition to end the persecution. The eye-catching banners and many display boards drew the attention of Polish MPs and the public. At the event, some MPs had long conversations with practitioners to learn the facts, some Polish media outlets interviewed practitioners, and some people bought the book Zhuan Falun. People strongly condemned the CCP’s despicable act of persecuting human rights in the name of the country, pointing out that the act of forced harvesting organs for profit is a genocidal atrocity.

Polish MPs supported the Falun Gong rally, and on the same day the parliament proposed that Poland needs to ratify the The Council of Europe Convention against Trafficking in Human Organs (CETS No. 216).

During the rally, multiple Polish MPs talked with practitioners for a long time, learned about Falun Gong in detail, and signed the petition “Stop the CCP’s Live Organ Harvesting from Prisoners of Conscience.” Some MPs submitted the bill to ratify the CETS No. 216 against human organ trafficking to Parliament that day.

MPs and the public sign a petition calling for an end of the persecution.

The bill states: “The first report into organ harvesting in China, primarily from Falun Gong practitioners, was released in 2006 following a thorough investigation by Canadian human rights lawyer David Matas and the late David Kilgour, Canada’s former Secretary of State for Asia and the Pacific.

“The China Tribunal (ChinaTribunal.com), chaired by Chief Attorney Sir Geoffrey Nice KC, collected testimony and evidence on organ harvesting and released a 562-page verdict in 2020, according to which there is no doubt that China is carrying out organ harvesting, with Falun Gong practitioners being the main victims, and that transplant tourism in China is a multi-billion dollar industry. According to David Matas’ estimate this year, the industry is valued at over $8 billion per year.

“Falun Gong is an ancient Chinese practice consisting of five simple, peaceful exercises and basic skills to improve character based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. Because the principles followed by Falun Gong practitioners in life are different from the Chinese Communist Party's philosophy of lies, evil and struggle, and there were more Falun Gong practitioners than party members at the time, the group became the target of China's brutal persecution in 1999.

“In 2015, the Council of Europe Convention against Trafficking in Human Organs (CETS No. 216) was passed to combat human organ trafficking. Although Poland signed the convention, it has never ratified or implemented it. Therefore, this MP supports Falun Gong and formally submits the bill.”

In addition, the Polish MP also submitted to the Polish Parliament the Falun Gong Protection Act (H.R.4132) passed by the U.S. House of Representatives in June this year. The bill requires the United States to stop the CCP’s practice of live organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners and other prisoners of conscience, and requires the United States to impose sanctions on those who participate in and assist in live organ harvesting in China. The MP hopes that the Polish government can also do the same.

Polish Reporter Saw Practitioners Arrested on Tiananmen Square

Kazimierz Kasprzak is a reporter for the Polish newspaper Dziennika. On November 7, 1999, he witnessed the violent arrest of Falun Gong practitioners by the CCP police on Tiananmen Square, in Beijing. Mr. Kasprzak was interviewed about what he saw.

From July 1999, when the CCP issued an order to persecute Falun Gong practitioners, to November of that year, more than three months had passed. “When I went to Tiananmen Square in Beijing, I felt that the surrounding environment was still in terror, and there were police everywhere on the square,” Kasprzak said. “When I saw a group of police officers arresting a Falun Gong practitioner who had just arrived, I immediately pressed the shutter of my camera out of professional sensitivity. I almost lost my life for this photo.”

Kasprzak continued, “I didn’t expect that in addition to uniformed police officers on Tiananmen Square, there were also plainclothes police everywhere. I quickly became a suspect. I hurriedly handed the camera to my companion, and another companion gave me a camera with blank film. Under the police’s watch, the film was exposed. I thought everything was fine.

“But I didn’t expect that the plainclothes police saw us exchanging cameras, and the trouble began. The police wanted to check the cameras of 22 people in our team. In order to protect this precious historical photo, our team started a terrifying battle with the Chinese police. The atmosphere was very tense at the time. We answered countless questions from the police. In the end, everyone said that I was an ‘economist’ and I was lucky enough to get through. It’s hard to imagine what kind of tragedy would happen if they knew I was a reporter. I know that when we went to Beijing, four foreign journalists had been deported for taking photos of Falun Gong and lost their jobs in China.”

The Polish newspaper Dziennika published the story of how reporter Kazimierz Kasprzak witnessed the CCP police violently arresting Falun Gong practitioners on Tiananmen Square on December 31, 1999.

“In December 1999, as a witness to history, I recorded this horrific experience and published it in Dziennika on the last day of 1999. This also prompted me to learn more about Falun Gong and the CCP.”

He said, “More than 20 years have passed, and Falun Gong practitioners are still adhering to their beliefs and being good people. I give a thumbs up to Falun Gong and wish them a peaceful life. I support Falun Gong practitioners in their fight against the persecution and condemn the CCP’s persecution and the crime of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. That dictatorial party will definitely receive the punishment it deserves for doing so many bad things but not daring to expose them to the public.”

Do Not Turn a Blind Eye to the Persecution

Madeja Magdalena is a nurse and a government advisor who is enthusiastic about public affairs. She noticed the rally when she walked past the parliament building. When she learned that practitioners adhered to their belief in Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance despite the CCP’s persecution and organ harvesting, she was deeply touched.

She said, “If you turn a blind eye to the persecution of Falun Gong, you are an accomplice. As a government advisor, I have the responsibility to report this to all relevant agencies. I must do so. We cannot be accomplices.” She signed the petition and took informational materials and told practitioners, “You are doing the right thing. Keep going. I support Falun Gong.”

Letting More People Learn About Dafa

Tomek Kowalski, coordinator of the Polish Falun Dafa Association, addressed the rally.

Tomek Kowalski, coordinator of the Polish Falun Dafa Association, shared his cultivation experience at the rally. He said, “All Falun Gong practitioners in Poland know that after practicing, they will feel changes in their hearts and minds. Their diseases disappeared. Their bad habits such as smoking, drinking, and even taking drugs have been discarded. They require of themselves to be good people and better people according to the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.

“However, such a good practice has been subjected to the CCP’s bloody persecution, which only proves that the CCP is the public enemy of the people and will definitely be held accountable. We will continue to insist on clarifying the truth and protesting the persecution, so that more people can understand Falun Dafa and know that Falun Dafa is good.”
