(Minghui.org) Seven Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province residents are facing trial for their shared faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Mr. Sun Jian, a native of Panjin City of the same province, was arrested at his rental place in Jinzhou on April 13, 2024 and detained at the Nanshan Detention Center.

Ms. Liu Jingju, around 70, was arrested at home the next morning by officers from the Taihe District Domestic Security Division. Her home was ransacked. Mr. Wang Zhoushan was also arrested that same day.

The remaining four practitioners, including Ms. Zhang Yaming, Ms. Meng Chunying, Ms. Wang Guiling and Ms. Liu Yurong were arrested between April 13 and 15, 2024.

Mr. Sun and Ms. Zhang’s cases were submitted to the Linghai City Procuratorate by officers from the Zijing Police Station on June 18. The other five practitioners’ cases were also submitted to the Linghai City Procuratorate, by Li Lei and Li Xing of the Taihe District Domestic Security Division.

Prosecutor Li Feng indicted all seven practitioners in July and moved their cases to the Linghai City Court. Judge Xu Bing was assigned to Mr. Sun and Ms. Zhang’s cases and judge Cheng Cheng is in charge of the other five practitioners’ cases.

The police in Jinzhou monitored the practitioners for months before arresting them. They followed the practitioners on foot and installed surveillance cameras near their homes, and in some cases, placed tracking devices on their electric bikes.
