(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners in the San Francisco Bay Area held activities in Chinatown on June 29, 2024 to introduce the spiritual practice and raise awareness of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution. They persuaded people to withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations. They also held a car tour to inform people about the Falun Gong Protection Act, which was recently passed unanimously by the U.S. House of Representatives.
People learn about Falun Gong and the CCP’s persecution.
Practitioners’ car tour in Chinatown
On the afternoon of June 25, the U.S. House of Representatives unanimously passed the Falun Gong Protection Act (H.R.4132). The bill states that the CCP must immediately stop persecuting Falun Gong and stop the CCP’s practice of harvesting organs from Falun Gong practitioners and other prisoners of conscience. It requires the United States to impose sanctions on those who participate in, and assist in organ harvesting in China. Sanctions include freezing assets, prohibiting entry into the United States, and economic penalties.
San Francisco Resident: I Hope the Senate Can Also Pass This Bill
Mary, a San Francisco resident, expressed her support when she heard that the House of Representatives had passed the Falun Gong Protection Act. She said, “The CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong is horrible. I am happy that the House of Representatives passed the bill. It’s great. If I hadn’t met you, I wouldn’t have known this news. I hope the Senate can also pass this bill. I wish you good luck.”
She said, “The CCP’s crime of organ harvesting is horrific. I saw you five years ago when you were marching in the financial district. There were so many of you. That was the first time I saw you. I got a pamphlet and looked Falun Gong up online after I got home.”
She said, “You are peaceful and quiet in this downtown area. I think people notice you. You are supporting a big cause.”
Mary said that she is a Christian. “I like the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. People should learn to be tolerant.”
Chris Lim (right) said he supported the bill.
Chris Lim, who graduated from the University of California Berkeley, is currently a counselor. He passed by the practitioners’ activity and stopped to learn about the event. “I didn’t know that organ harvesting was happening in China. It’s so horrible. You are doing the right thing. I will definitely make further inquiries.” He thanked the practitioner for letting him know about the persecution in China.
After learning about the Falun Gong Protection Act, he said, “The bill passed by the House of Representatives helps stop organ harvesting. You are doing a great job to stop the persecution.”
He learned more about Falun Gong and said, “It sounds great. This is a way to lead people to a better life.”
Kelly, another San Francisco resident, was happy to see practitioners. She said, “You are courageous to come here to raise awareness. Everyone should know about the persecution in China. You have been insisting on raising awareness. Thank you.” She said that Falun Gong is a peaceful group. They meditate and practice, and let people know about the CCP’s crime of live organ harvesting. “The CCP is harvesting people’s organs while they are alive, especially the organs of Falun Gong practitioners. This is disgusting.”
Australian: Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are Important
Brian (second on left) talks with a practitioner.
Brian from Australia was on a business trip in San Francisco. When he learned why practitioners were holding the events, he said, “Anything that helps the body and mind is good. Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are important to everyone’s life.” After learning about the CCP’s crime of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners, he said, “Anything that deprives people of their freedom and persecutes them is bad. I hope your activities can help more people understand the issue.”
The event coordinator, Mr. Wu, said, “The Falun Gong Protection Act passed by the U.S. House of Representatives is of great significance, because the previous bills passed by Congress only expressed the opinions of Congress, and the bill passed this time will eventually have a legal effect.” He said, “Those who participate in the persecution of Falun Gong will be sanctioned. I hope other countries follow and pass similar bills. Now the whole world knows that the CCP is an evil organization. I hope that the Chinese people can recognize the nature of the CCP and withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations.”
Ms. Liu, a practitioner from Sacramento, the capital of California, said, “The Falun Gong Protection Act passed by the House of Representatives shows that American politicians, whether Republican or Democratic, have recognized the harm of the CCP and the threat it poses to the United States.”
She continued, “This bill is a great support and encouragement to Falun Gong practitioners in China. People outside of China know that the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong is evil, and those who participate in the persecution will be punished. Whether they issue orders or carry out the persecution, they will be held accountable in the future and judged by history. I call on those who participate in the persecution to stop the persecution immediately.”
Chinese People Quit the CCP Organizations
Mr. Wang, who came to the United States from Wuhan, China, three years ago, quit the Communist Young Pioneers and Communist Youth League on the spot after learning about the true nature of the CCP.
Mr. Wang said that the CCP is evil, just like bandits, and even worse than bandits. The CCP is the most evil entity in history.
He said that he didn’t know much about Falun Gong, but he knew that Falun Gong was good and Falun Gong practitioners were all good people.
Another person who spoke Cantonese, Ms. Wang, quit the Communist Young Pioneers. She thanked the practitioner for helping her quit the CCP organization and said she would remember the two phrases: Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.
