(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 10 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Xu Wenying Faces Trial
2. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Gao Xiaoying Tried
3. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Held in Detention Center
4. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Bi Meiying Arrested
5. [Chongqing] Mr. Yang Zuolin Arrested
6. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Fu Dongsheng Arrested
7. [Tianjin] 75-Year-Old Tianjin Woman Finishes Five-Year Prison Term
1. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Xu Wenying Faces Trial
Ms. Xu Wenying is scheduled to be tried in the Railway Transport Court at 2 p.m. on May 20, 2024.
2. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Gao Xiaoying Tried
Ms. Gao Xiaoying has been held in Qindu District Detention Center in Xianyang City for 10 months. She was tried by the Qindu District Court on May 14, 2024, and was likely sentenced to prison.
3. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Held in Detention Center
Zhang Rongrong from the Kuiwen District was arrested by Fangzi District Police Department officers on the morning of April 22, 2024, but returned home later that day.
Zhang Jianping, Ms. Li Ximin, and Ms. Li Shuyun are currently held in the Weifang City Detention Center. Their families have not been allowed to visit them.
4. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Bi Meiying Arrested
When Bi Meiying contacted practitioners outside China working in media outlets via the social media app WeChat, she was monitored. She was arrested on May 13, 2024.
5. [Chongqing] Mr. Yang Zuolin Arrested
Mr. Yang Zuolin, in his 50s, lives in the Sanse Garden Residential Community, Longxi Town, the Yubei District. He was reported to the police for distributing Falun Gong materials in Longji Square in the Yubei District on April 30, 2024. He was arrested and his home was ransacked.
6. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Fu Dongsheng Arrested
Mr. Fu Dongsheng, in his 50s, was caught on surveillance cameras distributing Falun Gong materials in the Beidaba area, Lishi Economic Development Zone, on the afternoon of May 13, 2024, which marks the 32nd anniversary that Falun Dafa was introduced to the world.
The next day, officers from the Development Zone Police Department arrested Mr. Fu and took him to the Lishi Police Department. They ransacked his home and confiscated his Falun Gong books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, and a computer. The Santaizi Detention Center refused to accept him when he failed the physical examination. Mr. Fu returned home at 3 a.m.
7. [Tianjin] 75-Year-Old Tianjin Woman Finishes Five-Year Prison Term
Ms. Yao Shilan, a 75-year-old Tianjin resident, was released from the Tianjin Women’s Prison on March 9, 2024, after completing a five-year term for practicing Falun Gong.
Prior to her latest imprisonment, Ms. Yao was arrested nine times, resulting in two forced labor terms totaling three years and ten months, and a prior prison term of 3.5 years. During each detention, Ms. Yao was brutally tortured and was on the verge of death multiple times.
