(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 4 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 5 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Liu Hong’en Sentenced to Three Years

1. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Liu Hong’en Sentenced to Three Years

Mr. Liu Hong’en, in his 70s, was arrested for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong and was sentenced to three years in prison. He is incarcerated in Tailai Prison.

2. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Li Yanxia Detained

Ms. Li Yanxia of the Caidian District was arrested on April 3, 2024, when she was talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in Baotong Temple in the Wuchang District. She was formally arrested and is being held in the Wuhan City First Detention Center.

3. [Fuxin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Cuiyu Detained

Ms. Li Cuiyu was arrested on the evening of March 20, 2024, for distributing Falun Gong flyers. She was subjected to 15 days of administrative detention. She was put under surveillance after she was released. Her computer, three copies of Zhuan Falun, four cell phones, a music player, and other items were confiscated.

4. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Wang Guaiyan Detained

Ms. Wang Guaiyan is being held in the Baoji City Second Detention Center, not the Weibin District Detention Center.

5. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xiong Lihua Escapes Police Interception

Ms. Xiong Lihua from the Qiaokou District is a teacher. She was arrested at her school on January 17, 2024, after someone reported her for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked. She was detained for 15 days in the Wuhan City First Administrative Detention Center.

When she was released on February 1, 2024, her husband was waiting for her at the detention center gate. Just as they met, a group of plainclothes officers suddenly appeared and tried to take her away. Her husband argued with them and blocked them. She managed to escape during the chaos.
