(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 9 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhu Yanping Sentenced to Prison

It was reported that Ms. Zhu Yanping was sentenced to one year in prison by the Linghai City Court between March and April 2024. She is being held in Jinzhou City Women’s Detention Center.

2. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Deng Zhongqin Sentenced to Supervised Release

Ms. Deng Zhongqin was fined 4,000 yuan by the Chuanshan District Court on April 26, 2024. On April 29, she was tried again and sentenced to one year of supervised release with two years of probation.

3. [Nong’an County, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Guiqin Arrested

Ms. Wang Guiqin was reported to the police when she talked to people about Falun Gong on May 2, 2024. She was arrested by officers from the Baota Police Station. She is being held in the police station.

4. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Zongshan Held in Detention Center

Mr. Wang Zongshan was arrested around April 14, 2024. He is being held in the Jinzhou City Detention Center.

5. [Beijing] Ms. Xia Chunfeng Monitored

Officers from the Changying Police Station in Chaoyang District and Lijingyuan Community management personnel sent two groups, each composed of four people, to stay outside Ms. Xia Chunfeng’s home between April 21, and April 26, 2024. These people followed and monitored her around the clock.

6. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Zou Ruizhu Arrested

Ms. Zou Ruizhu was arrested by Zhang Yonghua, head of the county Domestic Security Division, and other people when she was on her way to her daughter’s home on April 17, 2024. She was taken to the Chengguan Police Station for interrogation. They ransacked her home and confiscated all her Falun Gong books, a media player, a computer, and a printer.

Ms. Zou was taken to Xiangyong Legal Center. After interrogation, she was taken to Chenzhou City Police Department Detention Center. Given her poor health, the detention center refused to accept her. She returned home. The police extorted 2,000 yuan from her daughter, and her case remained open.

7. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Pan Arrested

Pan (first name and gender unknown) was arrested by officers from Ganjingzi Police Station on April 24, 2024. Pan’s home was ransacked. The officers confiscated a computer, a printer, Falun Gong books, and cash, the exact amount is unknown.

8. [Shanghai] Ms. Ying Yu Placed Under Residential Surveillance

During the anniversary of “April 25” [when over 10,000 Falun Gong practitioners assembled near the Zhongnanhai central government compound in Beijing in 1999, seeking the release of unjustly arrested fellow practitioners], Ms. Ying Yu’s family in Putuo District was placed under residential surveillance between April 22 and April 26, 2024.
