(Minghui.org) To celebrate the 32nd anniversary of Falun Dafa’s public introduction, Falun Dafa practitioners held a day-long celebration on Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto, Canada on May 11, 2024.
Toronto has a large Chinese population, and people from China talked with practitioners about Falun Dafa. Some withdrew from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Practitioners gave dance and music performances to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day.
The grand celebration moved Chinese tourists. Mr. Wang from Fuzhou, China, went to the square early in the morning. He noticed practitioners decorating the venue and stopped to watch. They gave him a flier and told him about Falun Gong.
Mr. Wang is a retired driver and said he saw many ordinary people in China being crushed by the CCP’s power. He said, “The Communist Party deceives people. When they carve up interests, the officials protect each other, but the common people can’t say anything. It’s really bad.” He listened to a practitioner’s explanation about the CCP-staged self-immolation on Tiananmen Square and how millions of Chinese people have already quit the CCP organizations. He agreed and quit the Communist Young Pioneers under his real name.
The practitioner told him that if he sincerely said, “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” in times of danger, he would be blessed. Mr. Wang expressed his gratitude. He also asked the practitioner if they needed any help. The practitioner thanked him and told him that the venue had been arranged.
Giving Practitioners a Thumbs Up
An elderly couple came to the square with their daughter. After the husband took a leaflet distributed by practitioners, the wife did not want him to read it out of fear. The husband read the banner hanging on the square: “The whole world celebrates the 32nd anniversary of Falun Dafa’s public introduction.” The practitioner told them that it was important to understand the truth, and she persuaded his wife to let him listen. The old gentleman then listened to the speech given by a Canadian Member of Parliament.
The practitioner told them not to miss the opportunity to hear the true facts. The practitioner told him that practitioners hold these events and tell people about Falun Gong so they can improve their morality and become good people according to the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. Falun Gong is not like what the Chinese government claims. There are so many people practicing cultivation, and the Canadian government is very supportive.
He said that he was a member of the CCP, Youth League, and Young Pioneers, but he was worried about whether he should quit them. He listened as a practitioner talked about the Communist Party’s promotion of atheism in order to corrupt people’s morality because there is no moral bottom line and no faith in China, and that the morality of Chinese society is getting worse and worse, and more and more corrupt officials have appeared. He nodded.
The practitioner mentioned that we are descendants of the Yellow Emperor who respected heaven and believed in the divine. We believe that good people will be rewarded, and we cannot stand with the Communist Party. He readily agreed to quit the Party using an alias and gave the practitioner a thumbs up. After that, he accepted the flyer again, packed it up with great care, and kept thanking the practitioners.
It is Different from the CCP Propaganda
A mother and her two daughters stopped to watch the exercise demonstration on the square. They said they had never seen such a scene in China. A practitioner explained that the gathering was to celebrate the birthday of the founder of Falun Gong, and told them about Falun Gong. The mother said, “The situation here is completely different from the CCP’s propaganda in China.” The three of them quickly agreed to use aliases to quit the CCP organizations they had joined.
Ms. Li from Tianjin came to Canada to travel with her husband and mother-in-law. While they were watching the celebration, a practitioner handed them fliers and told them about Falun Gong and the importance of withdrawing from the CCP and its affiliated organizations. At first, Ms. Li’s husband and mother-in-law were somewhat reluctant, but Ms. Li was not affected and listened.
The practitioner told them about the CCP-staged self-immolation on Tiananmen Square, the spread of Dafa around the world, and the significance of the celebration. Ms. Li listened quietly and attentively, and agreed. She quit the Communist Young Pioneers.
We Should Guard Our Conscience
A young man who was visiting Toronto said he had some understanding of Falun Dafa, so he chatted with a practitioner. The practitioner talked about being virtuous and maintaining a moral conscience. He strongly agreed, and said that humanity’s moral decline would lead to divine punishment.
He said with emotion, “We should guard our conscience. The current society in China is really degraded and terrible.” The practitioner further clarified the truth and mentioned that good people would be blessed. He happily agreed to quit the CCP’s youth organizations.
After hearing a practitioner talk about withdrawal from the CCP organizations, a woman who was passing by the square with her friends agreed to quit with an alias.
