(Minghui.org) To celebrate the 32nd anniversary of Falun Dafa’s public introduction, Falun Dafa practitioners held a day-long celebration at Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto, Canada on May 11, 2024.
Practitioners started off the day by doing the Falun Dafa exercises, which attracted many people’s attention. Some said they felt an atmosphere of peace and calm even though the square was crowded and noisy.
Afterward, practitioners recited poems, and their dance and musical performances were praised by the audience.
Officials and dignitaries came to express their support and admiration for Falun Dafa (also called Falun Gong).
Practitioners also held a parade in the center of Toronto. Multiple Chinese people agreed to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations after witnessing Falun Dafa’s widespread acceptance in Western society.

Former Senator: Falun Gong Practitioners Are My Heroes
Former Senator Consiglio Di Nino expressed his admiration for practitioners and condemned the CCP. He said, “The Chinese authorities that are indeed conducting activities in China that are not only illegal, but they’re also immoral. The persecution of people is something that the world should not ever see again, and yet in China, it still exists.
“China may want to hide it. China may want to deny it, but you are the witnesses and the recipients of the tragic human treatment. You are my heroes, and I thank you for what you’ve done.”

After the speech, he received an interview. He said Falun Gong benefited people across the world, directly or indirectly. He said that Falun Gong practitioners believe in the fundamental principles of humanity. These principles benefit not just the practitioners, but the entire community, and indeed everyone. Because Falun Gong makes human beings kind, it is spread all over the world
He called on the entire world to stop the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. He said that the CCP has been treating Falun Gong practitioners in a cruel way, and that no one should be treated in such an inhumane way, no matter where, or at any time. The persecution is not just a problem for China, but a problem that the whole world should solve together. The CCP’s evil cannot be tolerated by any human beings or humanity.
Former Member of Parliament: One Day We Will Celebrate Falun Dafa Day in China
Wladyslaw Lizon, former Member of Parliament, addressed the rally.
Wladyslaw Lizon, a former Member of Parliament, pointed out that we should not forget those practitioners being persecuted in China while we hold these celebrations. He said, “I am very happy to be with you all to celebrate 32 years of Falun Gong. But we should never forget what is happening in China, what the communist government is doing to stop practitioners, to stop this movement by persecuting, sending people to jail, to labor camps, and “re-educating” them. Falun Gong promotes Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. This makes people better, countries better.”
He condemned communism. He said he grew up in Poland under communism when he was young. “I will never forget my late father. He remembered, of course, Poland before communism was imposed on it. He used to say, ‘This cannot last. This is not normal, this cannot last.’ And he was right.” Poland is not a communist country anymore.
He hopes that China will change with the collapse of the CCP. He said, “We will be able to bring that change to China and for many years to come. We will be able to celebrate in China and in the entire world.”
CEO of Optimum Publishing International: The CCP’s Transnational Suppression Extends to the World
Dean Baxendale, CEO of Optimum Publishing International, speaks in the rally.
Dean Baxendale said in his speech, “I'm a publisher. I’ve done a lot of work specifically on highlighting the Chinese Communist Party’s repression, highlighting their infiltration operations, ultimately to have public policy that ultimately benefits the Party in China, but not Canadians. We’ve watched bribery, we’ve watched the infiltration into our Canadian system and across the world by the CCP.
“And finally, this week, something that we’ve all been working for some time is to see a foreign agency registration act put in place in Canada. It will help to protect all of you and all communities inside Canada that may be oppressed by foreign oppressors.”
He confirmed practitioners’ efforts behind the scenes to strive for a safe living environment for their compatriots. “I’m really proud to be associated with all of you and have this opportunity to come and be amongst you and fight for the same thing. That’s for peace, freedom, and democracy.”
Global Vice President of the Democratic Front: You Are Outstanding
Ms. Sheng Xue, Global Vice President of the Democratic Front, addressed the rally.
In her speech, Ms. Sheng Xue reviewed the suffering experienced by Falun Gong practitioners: “Falun Gong practitioners have endured twenty-five years of persecution so far. The persecution experienced by Falun Gong practitioners is unlike anything anyone in history has endured. Because the tyranny of the Chinese Communist Party is more evil, more cunning, and has no human bottom line than any other regime or evil forces in history. Therefore, Falun Gong practitioners have actually become the most powerful force in our entire human history. To this day, they are the strongest, most confident, and most capable of adhering to their beliefs and making the greatest sacrifice.”
She said that it was the entire world’s responsibility to shed light in the darkest places. She said, “The darkness will definitely pass, just like all the evil forces in history, they have passed. The same is true for the tyranny of the Chinese Communist Party. There is no doubt that it will be ended and will become a thing of the past.”
Finally, she spoke highly of Falun Gong practitioners: “You are a star in the history of mankind. You are all those who have gone through the dark ages in this history and can be recorded and retained by history. You are great people.”
