(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 43 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Suizhong County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Yang Jiangwei Formally Arrested
Mr. Yang Jiangwei was formally arrested. His family was notified by director Xu Bo from the Gaoling Town Police Station on May 1, 2024. At his family’s request, Xu handed a copy of the arrest notification issued by the Suizhong Police Department.
2. [Beijing] Four Practitioners Detained
Ms. Zhang Xiuli, Ms. Meng Xiuzhen, and two other practitioners were arrested by officers from the Jianguomen Police Station on the morning of March 29, 2024. They were put into the Beijing First Detention Center.
3. [Laishui County, Hebei Province] Mr. Xia Hongmin Arrested
Mr. Xia Hongmin was arrested at home after 8:00 a.m. on April 30, 2024. His whereabouts are unknown.
4. [Anlu City, Hubei Province] Ms. Huang Mingfang Arrested in Yingcheng City
Ms. Huang Mingfang, in her 80s, is from Anlu City. Ms. Liu Jiaoya, around 80, lives in Yingcheng City. Ms. Huang stays in Ms. Liu’s home and is Ms. Liu’s care giver. Five people, who did not identify themselves, broke into Ms. Liu’s home after 3:00 a.m. on April 29, 2024 and arrested Ms. Huang.
Three days ago, before Ms. Huang’s arrest, police harassed Ms. Liu at home and photographed the people who were there.
5. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Dong Ronglan Harassed
Ms. Dong Ronglan was harassed at home on the afternoon of February 1, 2024, by three officers from the Yunyan Police Department who were guided by community clerks, Zhang Jia and Hu Mei. One officer brought a thick document and ordered her to sign and fingerprint it. She refused. Her son was threatened by them, so he signed and pressed his fingerprints on the document.
Community clerks Zhang and Hu went to her home again on the afternoon of March 1, 2024. They brought a sample “Transformation Form” and three empty ones, ordered her son to copy the content to the empty forms, and forced her to sign them.
6. [Huixian City, Henan Province] Ms. Zhao Heqin Detained
Ms. Zhao Heqin was arrested at home by officers from the Huixian City Domestic Security Division around 7:00 a.m. on April 19, 2024. Her Falun Gong books, a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, a notebook computer, and other items were confiscated. She was detained for seven days. It was said that a surveillance system recorded her distributing Falun Gong flyers three years ago.
7. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Li Chuozhong and Ms. Liao Yuanqun Detained
Mr. Li Chuozhong and his wife Ms. Liao Yuanqun were arrested at home by about twenty officers from the Xingning City Police Department on April 19, 2024. Their home was ransacked. Many printouts, cash, printers, computers, and other items were confiscated. Mr. Li was subjected to criminal detention and was held in the Xingning City Detention Center. He became ill. He is being held in the Meizhou City No. 3 People’s Hospital. His condition is unknown. Ms. Liao is being held in the Meizhou City Detention Center for criminal detention.
8. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Qiuzhen Arrested
Ms. Liu Qiuzhen lives in Liutuo Village, Zhonghanzhuang Town, Wangdu County. She was arrested at home by officers from the Zhonghanzhuang Town Police Station on the afternoon of April 28, 2024. They ransacked her place, seized her computers, printers, printer paper, books, and many personal items. She was taken to a detention center, which refused to admit her because she had high blood pressure. She was taken back home after 11:00 p.m. When she arrived, her home was in shambles. The over 100 yuan in cash in her backpack was gone, and her granddaughter’s leather suitcase was pried open.
9. [Beijing] Many Practitioners Harassed
On April 25, 1999, thousands of Falun Gong practitioners peacefully appealed to the State Council Appeals Office in Beijing. Around April 25, 2024, Beijing 610 Office agents, police officers, and community clerks repeatedly harassed practitioners and their families at home or made harassing calls. Here are the names of some of the practitioners who were harassed: Ms. Hu Xingxian of Fengtai District, 82; Ms. Guo Meiying of the Xicheng District, 84; Ms. Xing Guiling of the Tongzhou District, in her 80s; Ms. Wu Qizhen of the Dongcheng District, in her 60s; Ms. Wang Cuijuan of the Miyun District, in her 60s; and Ms. Hao Ruihua from the Xicheng District, in her 50s.
10. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Ailian Detained
Ms. Li Ailian was arrested in mid-April, 2024. She is being held in the Weifang Detention Center.
She was arrested and taken to the Nanguan Police Station last year after surveillance system caught her distributing Falun Gong flyers. She was released on bail the same day. Officers repeatedly harassed her at home or made harassing calls.
11. [Nong’an County, Jilin Province] Ms. Huo Runqing and Ms. Wang Shuyan Detained
Ms. Huo Runqing was arrested by officers from the Rongguang Road Police Station on the morning of April 19, 2024. Her home was ransacked. Her Falun Gong books, a notebook computer, printers, printing supplies, and printouts were confiscated. She was first held in the Weizigou Detention Center. She is being held in a detention house.
Ms. Wang Shuyan was arrested at home by officers from the Rongguang Road Police Station on the morning of April 19, 2024. Her home was ransacked. Her Falun Gong books, a notebook computer, and three U-drives were confiscated. She was released after she was detained for 10 days.
12. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Jiang Jingcheng and His Wife Detained
Mr. Jiang Jingcheng and his wife were recorded by the surveillance system when they distributed Falun Gong flyers in March 2024. Officers from the Yongquan Police Station ransacked their home and seized cash worth about 600 yuan on April 19, 2024. The police made voice and video recordings in their home, and took them to the police station for interrogation. They were held in the Yongsheng Detention Center for five days, and were released on April 25, 2024.
On the afternoon of April 25, seven or eight people from the Jinma Police Station and Guangming Community went to their home, threatened them, made voice and video recordings, and ransacked the place.
13. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Guo Guiping Detained
Ms. Guo Guiping lives in Zhengzi Village, Dabusu Town, Qian’an County. She was harassed twice at home by the village security Sun Long on November 14, 2023. Dabusu Town Police Station director Yao went to her home, ordered her to report to the police station for police records. She was arrested and detained for three days.
14. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Latest News on Practitioners’ Arrest
Mr. Ji Jinxi from the Siyuetian Community was arrested at his home by officers from the Songshan Police Station on April 13 or 14, 2024. An elderly practitioner was visiting him and was also arrested.
Jing, 73, first name and gender unknown, was arrested while walking downstairs after he or she visited Ms. Liu Jingju, around 70, in the Donghuayuan Community in the early morning hours of April 14, 2024. Jing’s home and Ms. Liu’s home were ransacked. Jing had a heart attack, was given a physical exam in city’s No. 3 Affiliated Hospital, and was released on bail.
Mr. Wang Zongshan was arrested around April 14, 2024.
Police pried open the door of an apartment near Dandong Clothes Whole Sale Market around 3:30 p.m. on April 24, 2024. They arrested Ms. Hu Yuyuan and Ms. Fu Guihua. After 5:00 p.m., they took Ms. Hu to her home in Zhongxing Community and ransacked the place. Ms. Fu was given administrative detention.
Ms. Nie Jing was arrested at her home by Linghe Police Department officers after 6:00 p.m. on April 24, 2024.
Ms. Dong Ying and her guest, practitioner Ms. Wu Yanqiu, were arrested at her home by officers from the Tian’an Police Station and the Guta Domestic Security Division around 6:00 p.m. on April 24, 2024.
Mr. Li Zhongjie was arrested on April 24, 2024.
Ms. Zhou Yuzhen was arrested on the morning of April 30, 2024. Officers said she handed out Falun Gong flyers in the street.
Mr. Sun Jian, Ms. Zhang Yaming, Ms. Meng Chunying, Mr. Wang Guiling, Ms. Liu Yurong, Ms. Xu Qingyan, and Ms. Lou Mengli were arrested between April 13 and 15, 2024.
At least 19 practitioners were arrested between April 13 and 30, 2024.
