(Minghui.org) More and more practitioners have moved outside of China in recent years to seek asylum. Some have joined projects and worked diligently to clarify the truth. There are also some who have, due to their human attachments, created complexities in the cultivation environment outside of China. In some cases, these disruptions have not only affected things in Western countries but also jeopardized the safety and cultivation environment of practitioners in China. One example is the continued usage of WeChat, which directly delivers information to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) (some perpetrators sell information about Falun Gong or use it as bargaining chip to gain political advancement).
The situation below is based on information provided by practitioners in China and investigation in the U.S. We omit the names of practitioners involved, but we hope to remind fellow practitioners to look at the fundamental problem and not get hung up on details or ordinary people’s rights and wrongs. We should all treat ourselves as cultivators. If we can all use the Fa to guide our xinxing and actions, those who haven’t truly cultivated themselves or came here to cause disruptions would be exposed and lose their market. Both overseas practitioners and those who came from China should work together and cherish the environment created by Master and overseas practitioners to save people. That is what Master wants.
It was learned that a practitioner went from Jilin City, Jilin Province to Thailand in 2006 and applied for asylum. She then moved to Finland and eventually came to the U.S. She now lives near the Mountain and has changed her name. She is good at disguising herself and often gives people the first impression of being kind. It’s confusing to some practitioners, as it feels to them that she is capable of getting access to important projects and information.
In the name of cultivation and working for important projects, she sought out opportunities to network with wealthy, capable practitioners inside and outside China and looked for ways to make money. To achieve her goal, she lied about many things. It’s true that she participated in some projects, but she was asked to leave one project after another, such as the kitchen team at the New Century Film base and a local support team for Shen Yun in one city. Through her connections, she joined the Shen Yun food preparation team in another city. Now she still brags that she “cooks for Shen Yun,” putting on the same act to gain people’s trust.
According to our investigation, this person doesn’t only have a house herself but has also bought several pieces of land. The important thing is that she kept calling practitioners in China on WeChat and talked about various gossip, how to make money in real estate near the Mountain, how to get legal status in the U.S. quickly through loopholes, what Master had said, what other practitioners had said, etc. She kept feeding important information to the CCP this way. For years, people only came to realize that she was lying after having contact with her for a period of time or getting to know her past actions and dishonesty.
On the other hand, for gossip to spread and grow increasingly bizarre, there must be an audience who likes to hear it. For example, after hearing such gossip, multiple practitioners in China talked on WeChat about buying land and building new houses near the Mountain. They said that the situation in the U.S. needs urgent investment and that any amount is welcomed. They encouraged practitioners in Changchun and Harbin to come to buy land, house, or make certain investments. There really were practitioners who travelled to the U.S. for this purpose. But when they failed to buy the land or houses in the end, big conflicts arose.
These practitioners from mainland China also commented in WeChat about the coordinators of certain projects, directly mentioning their names. They talked about the monthly salaries of practitioners working for certain projects in the U.S., that those in the U.S. didn’t know how to do business, and that they needed practitioners from China in order to do a better job. They also made everyday people’s comments such as how they were right and other people were wrong, etc. Their discussions amounted to actively and continuously giving the CCP detailed information about projects.
In some cases, practitioners in China bought houses near the Mountain through the help of those in the U.S., but ended up having financial conflicts. They used WeChat to communicate and resolve the conflicts. It should be asked of those who created these conflicts: are there any attachments for them to identify and remove, or did they treat themselves as ordinary people throughout this process?
It has been reported that the police in Changchun has an internal publication about Falun Gong. It’s very thick, and only the police chief or those in higher positions can read it. On pages 13-32, it described a company started by a practitioner in China as “a group making money for overseas Falun Gong.” The publication said that they were making money in China and then transferring it to the U.S. The names of all practitioners working for that company were listed in the publication. Are the actions that led to this outcome validating the Fa or achieving the opposite result?
It is also worth discussing the issue of property speculation from an ethics perspective, when the sole purpose of buying a home is to profit from its resale, as opposed to living in the home or renting it to others to live in. Records indicate that in 2019, a quarter of new homes in Sydney were purchased by people from mainland China, and a this type of impact has also been felt in the U.S. We’d like to stress that moral values differ between mainland China and normal societies outside China, and what is seen as a normal way to earn money in China can be viewed negatively elsewhere, with some countries imposing additional taxes on profits gained through short-term ownership of real estate.
The issues discussed in this article is not about just a few individual practitioners but is happening on a broader scale, and these practitioners’ pursuit for personal gains are damaging our cultivation environment. As a cultivator, aren’t we striving to be better people? When someone did things they shouldn’t do and still brag about it among practitioners in China, does that follow the requirements of Dafa? The U.S. government has accepted so many practitioners from China and provided shelter to them; why don’t they respect this land of freedom? When we are outside China, are we trying to influence normal societies with mentalities of communist China, or should we protect the peaceful cultivation environment and stay away from the pursuit of materialism and moral collapse as a result of China’s communist rule? Last but not least, after talking about the safety issues of WeChat for so many years, why do some practitioners still use it to call each other? Whoever does it isn’t cherishing the cultivation environment outside of China, but is damaging it.
