(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 13 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Linjiang City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhou Xueyi Sentenced to Five Years in Prison

1. [Linjiang City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhou Xueyi Sentenced to Five Years in Prison
Mr. Zhou Xueyi, born in 1973, lives in Dalizi Town. He was arrested by officers from the Linjiang City Domestic Security Division on July 7, 2023, and his home was ransacked. He was sentenced to five years in prison on the grounds that the police found and confiscated a printer, laptop, and Falun Gong books from his home. Mr. Zhou is being held in Jilin Prison.
Falun Gong cases in Baishan City, Jilin Province, are currently being handled by the Jiangyuan District Court of Baishan City. Any written judgment is only delivered to the practitioners themselves and their families cannot get a copy.
2. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Pintong’s Original Verdict Upheld
Ms. Liu Pintong appealed, but the Fushun City Intermediate Court upheld the original verdict against her, an 18-month prison term. Ms. Liu was taken to Liaoning Province Women’s Prison on February 26, 2024.
3. [Shizuishan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Ms. Li Zhixiang Sentenced to Prison
Ms. Li Zhixiang from Dawukou District was sentenced to three and a half years in prison by the Dawukou District Court. Ms. Li refused to accept the sentence and appealed to the Shizuishan City Intermediate Court, which upheld the original verdict.
In July 2023, Ms. Li was taken to Yinchuan City Women’s Prison.
4. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Hu Yuexia’s Original Verdict Upheld
Ms. Hu Yuexia, 65, was reported to the police on May 18, 2022, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was arrested and her home was ransacked by officers from the Shangzhuang Town Police Station. She was held in the Shijiazhuang City No. 2 Detention Center. Her case was turned over to the Qiaoxi District Procuratorate on August 28, 2022. She was tried by the Qiaoxi District Court on February 14, 2023. Ms. Hu was recently sentenced to three years and six months in prison and fined 10,000 yuan.
Ms. Hu asked her lawyer to appeal with the Shijiazhuang City Intermediate Court, which refused to hear her case. Her family recently received the second-instance judgment that the intermediate court upheld the original verdict.
5. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Li Chunhong, Ms. Wang Hongling, and Ms. Liu Meiping from Laiyang City were arrested on March 14, 2024, for distributing Falun Gong materials at the Bailinzhuang farmers market. They are now being held in the Longwangzhuang Detention Center in Laiyang City.
6. [Rongcheng City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested; Their Homes Ransacked
Ms. Yu Guilian, Ms. Wang Shuhua, and Ms. Ju were arrested by two plainclothes officers from the Tengjia Town Police Station at Tengjia Town farmers market on the morning of March 13, 2024. The police confiscated the Falun Gong materials in their bags and over 10,000 yuan in cash that was in Ms. Yu’s bag. Two practitioners were interrogated and asked to sign paperwork before returning home.
The police ransacked all three practitioners’ homes on the afternoon of March 13 and on the morning of March 14. Some Falun Gong books and printed materials were confiscated, and photos of the founder of Falun Gong were damaged.
7. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Ms. Shi Ruxia Held in Detention Center
Ms. Shi Ruxia was working in her clothing store on the morning of March 14, 2024, when she was arrested by several officers from the Shuangqiao District Police Department. Several officers from the local Shuangluan Police Station and community personnel broke into Ms. Shi’s home. They confiscated Falun Gong books, 10 pamphlets, audio players, MP3 players, and other playback devices. They took Ms. Shi to a police station in Shuangqiao District, where they questioned her and took notes. That afternoon her family members were notified to accompany Ms. Shi to take a physical examination. Ms. Shi was taken to the Shuangfengsi Detention Center in Chengde City around 9 p.m.
8. [Nong’an County, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Min Released from Detention Center
Ms. Wang Min was arrested on February 19, 2023. After 15 days of detention at Changchun City Lockup Center (also known as Weizigou Lockup Center), she was taken directly to the Weizigou Detention Center. She returned home safely on February 19, 2024.
9. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Tao Arrested
Ms. Tao from Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province was reported to the police and arrested in October 2023, when she was distributing Falun Gong materials near West Lake in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. She is now held at the Yuhang District Detention Center in Hangzhou.
