The Miraculous Things That Happened to My Wife

(Minghui.org) I started practicing Falun Dafa in 1997. Within a month, I felt light and became illness-free. Over the past 26 years, I have never been to the hospital or taken any medication. I am now 78 years old. Seeing what happened to me, my wife sincerely believed that Falun Dafa was good, and miraculous things have happened to her several times.

Recovery from a Stroke with No Side Effects

In early May in 2001, I noticed that my wife had trouble moving her tongue when she spoke, but I was not concerned. Later that night, she had to urinate and had difficulty getting up. She also could not speak clearly. Early the following morning, I took her to the hospital and was told she had had a stroke.

At that time, I didn't know to tell my wife to recite “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” But she knew in her heart that Dafa was good. A week later, she was able to get out of bed and walk around with my help. She recovered well.

Four other patients from our town were also in the hospital on the same floor. One was older than my wife and three were younger. They all suffered the same condition but had milder symptoms. None of them recovered as quickly as my wife.

After being discharged from the hospital, my wife would often listen to recordings of Master Li's (the founder of Falun Dafa) lectures in Guangzhou. By the end of the year, she was back to normal with no side effects. The other four people who’d been in the hospital with her all died within a few years. If the Chinese Communist Party did not persecute Falun Gong, perhaps some of them might have believed in Dafa, and they might have been cured.

In 2016, my wife ran into a man at the supermarket. They had met in the hospital when this person took care of his brother at the same time my wife was hospitalized. He was shocked and blurted out, “You are still alive!”

Eyesight Restored

Starting in March 2009, my wife felt that her eyesight was getting worse by the day. She sought medical treatment everywhere, but to no avail. By October, she was totally blind in her right eye and almost blind in her left.

We saw several experts in the provincial hospital. They said my wife had retinal degeneration, which could not be cured by surgery or medication, and did not admit her. One doctor said, “I can refer you to a well-known ophthalmologist at Zhongshan Hospital in Guangzhou. It’s expensive—you might have to pay tens of thousands of yuan. If you have the financial means, he might even refer you to top experts in foreign countries.”

I thought that her chances for a cure were slim, and we didn’t have the finance resources for that anyway, so we gave up.

While we were in despair, my younger sister showed me a CD about a traditional Chinese doctor who had saved countless lives but was unable to do anything about her own blindness. She was introduced to Falun Gong and was determined to be a genuine cultivator. One day, she opened the book Zhuan Falun and looked at it quietly for some time. A miracle then happened. She regained her eyesight and could see the words in the book clearly.

I felt that there might be hope for my wife after all. I opened Zhuan Falun and asked her to patiently look at it quietly. My wife is illiterate and she couldn’t see the words clearly. She kept saying, “I cannot see anything.” I asked her to just calm down and do not think about anything.

My wife finally calmed down and looked at the book for about half an hour. I looked over and saw her right eye moving. I asked if she could see it. She said, “I can!”

My excitement at that time was beyond words. A miracle that modern medicine cannot explain had once again happened to my wife. Since then, my wife has read Zhuan Falun regularly. She has learned a lot of words. Her persistence laid a solid foundation for her cultivation later.

Becoming a Dafa Practitioner after Second Stroke

Twenty years after the first stroke, my wife suffered a second stroke in April 2021. She had multiple complications and was hospitalized for half a month. In September, she checked into a regional hospital due to high blood sugar.

In February 2022, she was hospitalized again for neuritis on the right side of her face. She was considered a very high risk patient. She was weak and could barely whisper. She felt that she would die soon. Our neighbors also thought so.

It was at this time that she started to practice Dafa. She read Zhuan Falun thoroughly and asked about the words that were new to her over and over. Her health improved by the day.

By July 2022, she’d gained some strength and began to practice the exercises. From then on, she has studied the Fa and done the exercises every day. By February 2024, her health had fully recovered. The neighbors were all amazed. My wife told them that Dafa had saved her life. She now tells people she knows about the miracles that happened to her because she believed that Falun Dafa is good.

Today, my wife is now a healthy and hearty 75.
