(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 9 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Wang Guozhan Sentenced to Prison
Mr. Wang Guozhan, about 53 years old, and his wife from Shanghewan Town, Jiutai District, Changchun City, Jilin Province, did odd jobs in Zhengzhou, Henan Province for years.
Around February 10, 2023, a practitioner mailed Falun Gong materials to Mr. Wang in Zhengzhou, and the courier company reported this to the police. Officers from the local police station in Zhengzhou City notified the Gongnong Police Station in Jiutai District, Changchun City. Three officers from the Gongnong Police Station arrested Mr. Wang and his wife and took them to the Jiutai District Detention Center in Changchun City.
Mr. Wang’s wife was placed under criminal detention for 39 days and released. Mr. Wang is held in Changchun City No. 1 Detention Center in Xinglongshan Town and was sentenced to four years in prison by the Kuancheng District Court in Changchun City. He has appealed to the intermediate court.
2. [Maoming City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Wei Jingang Arrested
Mr. Wei Jingang was arrested prior to Chinese New Year’s Eve on February 9, 2024. Further details are not yet available.
3. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Hei Yan Arrested
Ms. Hei Yan was arrested on January 31, 2024. Details on her situation are not yet available.
4. [Xingtai City, Hebei Province] Mr. Lu Gang Remains in Detention Center
Mr. Lu Gang was arrested on July 20, 2023, and is held in the Julu County Detention Center.
5. [Beijing] Practitioner Liu Detained
Liu (gender unknown) was working as a temporary helper on February 6, 2024, in a residential home at Apt. 17A2, Building 13, No. 6 Courtyard in the Lianhuachi area. He or she was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong. Liu was arrested by officer Li Guanchen from the Xiju Police Station in Fengtai District. Li handcuffed Liu, and pressured Liu for information. Liu was taken to Fengtai Detention Center 24 hours later and held there for five days. Liu was released on February 12.
6. [Beijing] Ms. Yin Guiqin Held in Custody for 36 Days
Ms. Yin Guiqin from Daxing District was arrested by officers from the Shengli Police Station in Shunyi District on July 27, 2023. She was held in the Tongzhou District Detention Center for 36 days before she was released on bail and returned home.
7. [Beijing] Ms. Guo Xiulan Sentenced to Prison
After Ms. Guo Xiulan from Changping District was held in custody for over a year, she learned in January 2022 that she was sentenced to three and a half years in prison. She was taken from the Changping District Detention Center to Beijing Women’s Prison. Ms. Guo was released on November 2, 2023, and returned home.
8. [Hailin City, Heilongjiang Province] Several Practitioners Arrested
On January 30, 2024, several practitioners were arrested, but they all returned home within two days. Ms. Han Zhenghua was released on bail and was fined 15,000 yuan. The officers confiscated 1,000 yuan in paper bills with Falun Gong information printed on them when they ransacked her home. She had received these paper bills from her children, as she has no pension of her own.
9. [Siping City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Chunling Detained
Ms. Wang Chunling was reported to the police when she distributed Falun Gong materials on February 2, 2024. She was arrested by the officers from the Tiexi District Domestic Security Division. She was detained for 10 days and returned home on February 12.
