(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 6 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 16 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Cui Jingrong Arrested and Detained
2. [Longkou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Chen Guifang and Ms. Jiao Linhui Tried in Court
3. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhu Guimei and Ms. Bu Yuqin Arrested
4. [Zhoukou City, Henan Province] Ms. Chen Yuqin Passed Away Amidst Persecution
5. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Jian Guilin and Cao Arrested
6. [Longkou City, Shandong Province] Guo Meixue and Xiu Junliang Arrested
7. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Five Practitioners Harassed
8. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wu Shixiang and Ms. Fei Arrested
1. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Cui Jingrong Arrested and Detained
Ms. Cui Jingrong, 61, is a retired engineer. The police broke into her home, ransacked the place, and arrested her at around 7 p.m. on March 7, 2024. Ms. Cui is currently detained in the Lishi Police Station. Her family has not been allowed to visit her.
2. [Longkou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Chen Guifang and Ms. Jiao Linhui Tried in Court
Ms. Chen Guifang and Ms. Jiao Linhui were tried in the Longkou Court on December 26, 2023. Ms. Chen’s lawyer defended her innocence in court and requested her release. Judge Zhao Yu said the two practitioners would face one to three-year prison terms. Two months passed, but both practitioners are still being detained. The verdict has not been announced.
3. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhu Guimei and Ms. Bu Yuqin Arrested
Ms. Zhu Guimei and Ms. Bu Yuqin were arrested on the morning of March 6, 2024 when they were talking to people about Falun Gong. Ms. Zhu was released later that day. Ms. Bu was said to be in custody.
4. [Zhoukou City, Henan Province] Ms. Chen Yuqin Passed Away Amidst Persecution
Ms. Chen Yuqin was harassed and fined multiple times by Zhao Jishan from the Huaiyang County Police Department. Ms. Chen, age 79, was arrested by Niu Bowen, head of the Huaiyang County Domestic Security Division, on April 17, 2022, and her home was ransacked. More than 60 Falun Gong books and other personal belongings were confiscated. She was fined 5000 yuan, and her pension was suspended. She was sentenced to three years, to be executed outside of prison.
Ms. Chen has since been constantly harassed and monitored by police. Her health has deteriorated and she eventually became unable to take care of herself. She passed away on February 5, 2024 at age 81.
5. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Jian Guilin and Cao Arrested
Jian Guilin from Yongquan Township, Chaisang District was arrested by officers from the Yongquan Township Police Station on March 5, 2024. The police ransacked Jian’s home and confiscated his or her Falun Gong books. Jian was taken to the police station.
Cao went to Jian’s home that day and was also arrested. Cao was held for one day in the police station.
6. [Longkou City, Shandong Province] Guo Meixue and Xiu Junliang Arrested
Guo Meixue from Dongnan Village of Beima Town, was arrested on February 29, 2024, and held in the Zhangjiagou Detention Center. Guo started a hunger strike in the detention center which has lasted over a week.
Xiu Junliang from Shiliang Town was arrested in the Shiliang Town Market, for talking to people about Falun Gong on February 1, 2024. Xiu was held for seven days in the Zhangjiagou Detention House.
7. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Five Practitioners Harassed
Practitioners in Xinbin County have recently been harassed by police and local authorities.
Ms. Sun Lihua was harassed at home by twelve people. They searched her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, and other personal belongings.
Mr. Zhang Fuchun was harassed at home. His Falun Gong books and photo of Falun Gong’s founder were confiscated.
The police went to Ms. Chi Xiuhua’s home and tore the couplet off the wall. Ms. Chi was not home at the time.
The police went to Ms. He Xiurong’s workplace to find her, but was told that she had stopped working there long ago.
The police also went to Ms. Zhang Guixia’s home but didn’t find her. Ms. Zhang was recently released from prison.
8. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wu Shixiang and Ms. Fei Arrested
Ms. Wu Shixiang and Ms. Fei were arrested at the Xiazhuang Market on February 29, 2024. The police ransacked Ms. Wu’s home and confiscated a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, Falun Gong books, and over 100 copies of truth clarifying materials. Ms. Fei’s home was also ransacked.
